Nomads.com is an MCP server: plug it into your AI assistant and it can search our live city data while you decide where to live and work remotely, find meetups, and read or log your own trip history (with your key from /settings). Machine docs at /api and /llms.txt.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that lets AI assistants use external tools. Add this URL to any MCP client, no authentication:

| search_cities | Up to 100 cities sorted by overall score. Filters: budget, region, country, internet speed, safety, temperature. Each city carries nomad, expat, local and family monthly costs, rent, coworking, internet, weather, air quality, safety, cleanliness, fun, nightlife, walkability, healthcare, English-speaking, LGBT-friendliness, female-friendliness and remote work visa availability. |
| get_city | Everything above for one city, plus its next upcoming meetup when there is one. |
| list_meetups | Upcoming Nomads.com meetups: where, when and how many people are going. Filter by city, country or how far ahead to look. |
| get_trips | A member's own trip history (private). Needs their username and personal key from /settings. |
| add_trip | Add a trip to a member's own history: start and end dates, plus either a city_slug (from search_cities/get_city) or latitude+longitude from a places lookup. Within 5km of a Nomads.com city it snaps to it; any other place is stored as-is when its city and country names come along - same behavior as the profile page's own trip editor. Needs the same username and key. |
| remove_trip | Remove one of the member's own trips by trip_id (from get_trips) - e.g. a duplicate or superseded entry. Only the authenticated member's own trips can be removed. Needs the same username and key. |
At most 100 cities per search, 60 requests per hour per IP, and a curated set of fields. This is a city finder, not a bulk data source.
