Decided to hit Bacalar while awaiting friends in Quintana Roo. Glad I did. The lake was beautiful and area chill AF. Worked the first few days, hung out with someone amazing the rest of my time there. Hope we meet again. ๐ |

Cool place with lots to do in the area. Unfortunately, it was hellishly hot. Most places donโt have a/c and I ended up with heat exhaustion and had to leave early. |

By day 3, I'd seen all the famous old buildings and had enough of the smell of piss and being catcalled by men. Granada is filthy outside the city centre and children constantly ask foreigners for money. The highlights are the beautiful accommodations with great breakfast and pools, as well as a half day spent exploring the "Isletas" by kayak or boat. |

Loved this island just as much as I knew I would! Wasted no time hiking both volcanos, enjoying the natural pools, and kayaking the river. Moyogalpa itself wasnโt pretty or that interesting. I stayed in the area for proximity to the ferry, hospital, only grocery store on the island. The other side, the Maderas side, has a cute hippy feel to it, but it was too far away for my liking. You need a moto to get around, which I definitely ended up loving, despite how long it took to get anywhere. Sadly, my immune system did not love the island. My eczema flared badly for the first time in over 30 years. I had to leave the island to see a skin specialist and receive medical attention. :( Worth noting: the power trips and water goes out often. Stay somewhere with solo power! |

Two weeks living in a nomad/expat hub. It was ok. Itโs nice to hit the beach after finishing work but I felt both lonely and antisocial; ironically I visited SJDS to be social after living in a remote place. |

Two months spent on a finca in the mountains. I lived with a lovely dog and cat and my 8-year old horse girl was fulfilled with her 3 ponies. Loved every bit of this - right down to the dirt and bug bites. |
