Hm thats not electronic music :D
Thanks for the breakdown. For my first visit I think I'll probably appreciate being close to everything, so probably D1 makes the most sense.
I experienced increased scrutiny leaving KL for Hanoi yesterday, too. I went to the AirAsia counter for a document check but the agent didn't check anything or gave me a boarding pass, just said I could proceed to the gate because my documents would be checked there. At the gate I saw that everyone else had a physical boarding pass. When it was my turn the checkin agent triple checked all pieces of info on my eVisa with unusual scrutiny and after letting me through another very official looking person (looked like a federal agent, not an airline employee) did the same and checked my passport with a magnifying glass as if to make sure it's not fake. I was quite perplexed at the whole procedure. I must add that the people around me standing in line looked Malay. They seem to be scrutinizing foreigners for some reason.
The percentage doesn't seem to matter. I even got a warning but I submitted it anyway and got approved no problem.
In Da Nang!? I feel like theyโ€™re way less pushy here than in other cities in Vietnam.
Pissing I have seen , but they usually do it tucked away against a wall or pole, so at least thereโ€™s some kind of consideration.
Some trash yes, but itโ€™s not like it smells or your have to walk over it, mostly unobtrusive imho
D1/3 is super walkable everything in one place. Can recommend
all i can say is once you have the letter from your landlord that you live there it's easy as pie. just need that and your passport. but you need that letter
Great! Either works for me. How about rbijkstak

My Revolut eSIM for example
You donโ€™t need visa. You stay in the airport during connection
I need to register for corporate tax I believe. How do I do this? Is there any tutorial on the matter?
It's called wohnungsgeberbestรคtigung

Magnifying glass?! Didn't see that yesterday...

But the Air Asia gate people called out a number of countries (many from the EU), and looked at people's passports (briefly).

The most annoying part about Air Asia is that they weigh your carry-on. I paid 100 MYR for extra weight and they still pestered me to rebalance all my luggage so that my LAPTOP backpack and my carryon suitcase be under 14kg combined. As if anyone else but me would have to lift them. The check in lady gave some silly reason that the overhead compartment wouldn't support the weight.

Oh, and their electronic kiosks were super buggy.

Remember that a lot of countries want 6+ months of validty for entry.. so if you are under 12 months left, get a new passport now.
Revolut esims for China don't require VPNs?
Do they still check for onward travel for Thailand - getting tired of paying the onward ticket tax
Yes, Iโ€™m talkin about Mae Hong Son Loop
Itโ€™s what I struggle with as well.

One approach, apart from Georgia, is opening an Estonian Oรœ.

Then open a business bank account with LHV. Through LHV you can then open a personal account.
Other option would be UAE. Once you have the residency, you can open a personal bank account with Wio. The other local banks are stricter, so youโ€˜d need a rental contract, for example. And renting is expensive AF in UAE.

Currently finding out the hard way that tax free in Dubai doesnโ€™t mean you wonโ€™t have to pay anything..
There are 3 to check out
I tried sending a message with links and the bot nuked it

Scandium Living
Larsen House
I donโ€™t know much about H. Larsen is fun, well regarded, but higher end priced for the space youโ€™re getting. My friend lives in Scandium and it looks solid, but maybe feels less like a true Coliving and more like an apartment with communal amenities.
Singapore will let you open bank account as a non register if you have and willing to put 250k there.
There are ways to open a bank account in UAE as a non resident, but its a) subject for aproval and b) you need to invest with the bank (by bonds, etfs etc), usually at 150k usd and above.

Thank you soo much for this!
wugge in #estonia 24h
It was though comparing this, was the booking easy for you or did you have to do it a lot in advance?
I havenโ€™t used one. I know Larsen is easy as long as thereโ€™s the room and location you want available.
Revolut is technically a bank. They have a bank license for several years now.
They have a community manager who organizes events for the residents. I feel like this is the fun pick. But thereโ€™s a big first month payment to start renting a room monthly.
I was also going to rec a coworking space Iโ€™m at now and got muted by the bot
wugge in #estonia 24h
The rooms still seem quiet cheap, I don't mind that they are small, so I'm fine with that

Do you think all locations offer a quiet similar experience?
Booking most things in Estonia goes smooth like butter

I used to be at spaces coworking, it was quiet nice cause they had some billing issue so it was literally free ๐Ÿ˜„
but I was not in a coliving back than
wugge in #estonia 24h
happy for another recommendation though, but I'll probably pick whatever is close to my living place
If you want to see the vibe a little better, thereโ€™s a YouTuber who did a walkthrough of Larsen House. Manan Anwarโ€™s channel. H I only know exists. Scandium feels more residential but youโ€™ll find a mix of people and some want to socialize. Larsen seems the most techy/nomady.
Fraqmented. Right in the old town. Just started up and half the price of other ones. Friendly, cozy space and strong diverse network .

Really dislike this about Vietjet as well. Anytime I fly with them I just spring right for their premium package that includes the carryon allowance. Such a pain to address that in the airport, especially since they only take cash sometimes
Hey, just arrived to Lima, any place where nomads are gathering? Like a coffee shop, co working etc?
is there any WhatsApp group?
Great idea, how can we make one?
Maybe a LinkedIn pod too, no? Lol
I also use Revolut for both personal (metal) and business regular (free) plan
Hello everyone! I'm Lucas, from Brazil. I recently got into freelancing, but I still haven't started my noamdic life. I look forward to connect with people here, learn about traveling and to get the inspiration from your stories to take the next step!

btw, I love the beach, cycling and I am into business.
Yeah, that's exactly what I do. I buy the smallest I can find the then basic mix them in a normal plastic water bottle
No, you need ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท ID
This is quite important and will invalidate your DNV if broken.
the best option and best exchange rate is taking with you phisical dollars and exchange them in a "cave", then pay in cash, many places have discounts when paying cash isntead of with cards

Hello I'm in Danang and my Visa expires in 11 days ๐Ÿš

What's the best option to do a visa run? I don't know if i take bus/train to Loas/Cambodge or a flight to another country and then apply online for new 3 months E-visa.

I'm looking for something economic

Looking to long term rent (1 year or more) an apartment in Madrid. Anyone have any neighborhood / apartment recommendations. Moving there with my wife, both of us in our mid 30s.
Looking for a 2-3 bed in the UK Lake District in May for a week

Also looking for a 2 bed in KL in April
Anyone been to Santa Marta recently?

Hi Everyoneโ€ฆ Am working on an AI chatbot for nomads. Could you pretend to be a nomad asking your queries.. Would love all your help to sharpen this out. mgdtcfkmmjdbmqf
I sent a few queries and the responses were good, but what's different than using native AI like ChatGPT?
If the offer still stands, I'm in!
Is there a nomad/indiehacker community in Ho Chi Minh? Would love to meet others over the next week if anyone's around ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm a new nomad building video editing tools :)
The things you cite as "refined" just seem like party culture to me. I guess everyone has a different definition.
Could anyone who has flown in to Hanoi International give me a ballpark expectation of the time required to get through immigration?
As Nomad capitalist was quoting, find a place for yourself where you're treated best, then work it from there.

What you're mostly interested in is a place where you can get your fiscal residency without staying too much in that country (as you're traveling often), so you have a few options like: Cyprus, Dubai, Malaysia, Paraguay, but there are also ways to mimic that, like electricity bill in Malta or arriving in Cyprus greek side, driving to the turkish north side, then taking a boat to Turkey and traveling from there, while returning back the same route 2 months later to simulate you've stayed two months in Cy.

- Wise: pretty safe, I've been keeping there six figure numbers, even paid my house through it, they're an ex-Stanford bank, working with real banks, way better than most traditional banks on compliance, trust, support and privacy. (they don't ask too many questions, nor informing third parties about your activity) โ€” very good for US/GB local accounts and cheap/free transfers
- Revolut: better for EU side of things and as a buffer bank, to which you top-up funds from Wise, convert at a slightly better FX, then tunnel funds further to your personal banks if not spending straight from there
Both guaranteed for up to 100k insurance, but that goes with most of the banks anyway.

There's also fintech for businesses as well: Airwallex, Currenxie, Statrys, which don't charge maintenance fees, just a small deposit fee when you get money, charging no fees on domestic transfers.

โ€”โ€”

I actually opened a business in Hong Kong in just a few days (might be an alternative for you Stefan) with an Airwallex account and minimal papers/proofs required. It's good for asset protection and tax optimization due to the offshore corp tax exemption (0% if you don't do business within HK), then you get out of the company profit as dividends after settling purchase invoices to your own onshore business if going through such dual structure to ensure a fiscal residency in your jurisdiction of choice.
Wise is safe until it isnโ€™t. There are an unlimited number of posts on Reddit on a daily basis of people who, at least for them, totally out of the blue had their Wise account restricted/blocked/deactivated. If seen more of these posts for Wise than for any other bank/fintech.
And as well depends on your stamp history, overstay and so on. If your history is clean, you always exit on time, never collect anything for your criminal record - nobody will bother (not a 100% guarantee though). You probably sense the direction. ๐Ÿ™‚
Nope. Itโ€™s routed through HK. When I land in China with this SIM, I have WhatsApp, Facebook etc. access. Love it
This is gold. Thanks Tom. I've been a Revolutionary for years ๐Ÿ˜ŽโœŒ๏ธ
Haha yes! Love it. The only problem is that you canโ€™t use ChatGPT because that is blocked in Hong Kong.
You can't use their website, but you could probably get an automation working integrated with telegram where you ping openAI or other ai providers API endpoints. Or via hugging face API's

There are examples with make.com or n8n on yt
Yeah or just turn on my VPN haha
LetsVPN is amazing for my needs in China. So cheap as well
Usually itโ€™s about 30-50 minutes if you are entering at about 9pm-11pm

Oh arrival? Yeah 30 minutes is a good estimate. Peak times can be a little more.

Morning flights are a good bet, when Iโ€™ve flown in at about 6am usually thereโ€™s no line yet.
You should pick the line next to handicapped line as they will occasionally let people in when thereโ€™s no line there. Also line up next to ones without staff in it, as if the officer comes to work it then you can rush to the new line and save time
tomjamesdj in #china 46min
Slightly off topic, but Iโ€™m using Perplexity now and you can choose from different models for it to use, such as ChatGPT. Not sure if that is blocked but Iโ€™ll find out soon.
