Hi! Me and my boyfriend are planning to stay in Kuta Lombok from end of July till end of September. Any recommendations for accomodation, apart from AIRBNB?
Naaaaaaaz!!! Thank you โ˜บ๏ธ yeah I want the whole shabang bloodwork, X-rays, etc donโ€™t remember last time I did that. Will keep ChatGPT in mind for interpretation ๐Ÿ˜‚
I didnโ€™t realise people did this as a thing. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™ve never done it
This sounds really fun - in Porto atm but please post future events here
Just arrived in Porto and will likely stay longer here. Get sick of Lisbon/Ericeira - hit me up for food and drinks

dpityznkges is proposing a meetup in Medellรญn, Colombia at 818 District on Thursday, 17 April at 19:00:

"This week's meet-up was a success, so let's eat and grab a drink again! {Connect with other nomads and nationals at a Nomad space}"

โœ… RSVP here: https://nomads.com/meetups#6f2c7191e138835c965b58cd47e00af4
I hosted a meet up this week in Medellin, it was awesome so I partnered up with the place to host a new one next Thursday. So if you are in the city and donโ€™t have any plans on Thursday, come and connect with other nomads
I think Ericeira ticks those boxes. Thereโ€™s even a D&D cafe. Cafes and restaurants used to be few but more and more are popping up.
same here, also got a lawyer but it's not helping at all
Which area are you at in Rio?

Hey! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm hosting a casual meetup in London for anyone who wants to hang out and chat about digital, design, tech, creativity, side projects, or anything else.

โฐ Thu, 24 Apr, 2025, 19:00 PM
did you go? I am also interested
Nope not yet. I have no specific plans for it so far.
Iโ€™ll check this thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š
Good good. Love the digital nomad family but donโ€™t want to stay stuck in it lol
Should I be worried and send my skis via post? That would suck quite a bit as these are skiis that I'm making myself and I'd rather not part with them.
DnD cafe but no proper gym? What is this magical place? ๐Ÿ˜‚ ok Iโ€™m trying to decide between there and Costa da Caparica if anyone has insights on differences lmk! Iโ€™ll be there most of June so will day trip to check other areas but just trying to figure out where to get a place.
iโ€™d be up for doing something in Floripa this week as well!

Hey, does anybody know, to apply for a 60 day visa, is it okay to do it at evisa.imigrasi.go.id? Smooth process?
Hosting coworking again this Tuesday for anyone who wants to join here in Asuncion

Appreciate a few RSVPs to get this live!

We usually have 10-15+ join us for these events but not all from Nomadlist

https://nomads.com/meetups#436e85b52fe11602b35b0d20c8e721bb
Our coworking sessions include local remote workers as well as digital nomads and immigrants to Paraguay (a.k.a expats)
Hey everyone, I'm originally from Canada but not currently there, I'm over in Paraguay.

But I noticed someone is trying to host a nomad meetup in Toronto so I thought I'd share the link here in case others miss it.

They need 3 rsvps to go live, I know because I host events on Nomads too.

https://nomads.com/meetups#a64d95e5d9c59bde6bfc6f7a80822114
Hope it helps connect some of you who are in Canada
Oh I just realized it's fqzvtdhlurdjsw that's proposing it ๐Ÿ˜

Hope it works out!
Thanks Nathan!
I noticed Toronto has never had a nomadlist meetup, so thought we should change that
I'm tempted to RSVP just to get it live for you ๐Ÿ˜
Even though I am not in the area and don't plan to be next month.

I think a lot of nomads can't plan that far ahead because they don't know their plans so a lot of events are planned for a week or two out not a month away.

Hopefully you'll get some more joining!
Some of them donโ€™t like us bc they say weโ€™re the ones increasing rent prices - also very broke mindset culture imo so talking about money and taxes is a no no haah
Hi there.

I'm planning trip to Hannower and wanna check places around. And I'll be new in Germany.

Can you recommend some apps to check busses in Germany?

And how about ridesharing apps? Bolt doesnt seems to work there. Which one you recommend?
Thanks for your answers in advice ๐Ÿ™
has anyone moved their tax residency using the high networth option?
has anyone moved their tax residency to georgia using their high networth option/plan?
I only know that your assets (1M$+) must be located in Georgia for that.
Google works just fine. Db navigator for train rides.
Bolt might not be available in every city.
Iโ€™m not sure if Hannover is the best place to start in Germany. Or at least itโ€™s not the no one tourist destination in Germany. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Have fun
Ride sharing in Germany is like a more convenient way to order a taxi - youโ€™re not really getting any better deal with Bolt/Uber/FreeNow than regular taxis. So donโ€™t worry if apps arenโ€™t available where you are, you can get a regular taxi, the price & quality will be almost the same, and youโ€™re not in too much risk of getting scammed somehow.

Anyone here have experience buying extra luggage at AirAsiania?
I bought tickets for the 29th April (Narita -> Incheon) and (Incheon -> London).
I have 1 Check in Bag, but I need one more for my Skis, but when I try to purchase it it refuses to let me. ๐Ÿคท
Thank you for your tips
Someone told me that eSIM has access to Internet without any problem, I need to buy it in China with my passport, anyone can confirm this?
Many eSIMs have this access (no firewall). Like CMLink, Revolut and probably others
Yeah, but to make sure, anyone tested it?
Sorry I meant many
I have tested the two I mentioned
And yes, no VPN needed for them
Then I use LetsVPN when Iโ€™m on Wi-Fi and Iโ€™ve personally never had an issue with it
Same here. I've been using personal Wise and Business Wise for my UK LTD for 10+ years. I occasionally bought crypto with it. Never mixed up business and personal transactions.

As long as the addresses for residency (personal) and for registration (business) are validated, I had no issues. Even when I spend most of the year outside the provided locations.
Hi, do you know if I can change VND to IDR on Bali?
Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹ Thinking about going on my first trip to Bali, but sort of concerned about stray animalsโ€ฆ How likely is it to get bitten? What can I do to prevent this happening in the first place?
oskars in #bali 19h
Yes
oskars in #bali 19h
Sure but rate will be worse than converting from USD/EUR
oskars in #bali 19h
As unlikely as in other SEAsia, have an insurance and worry about it only if you get biften.
Thanks! So its better to convert VND to USD while in Vietnamโ€ฆ
ffgnjiurlrti is proposing a meetup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at SANTAI Pool Bar and Loundge - The Ruma Hotel and Residences on Wednesday, 16 April at 19:00:

I've been trying to convert THB to IDR, and after visiting maybe 6 exchanges all over Ubud, the lowest spread (checking on XE.com) I got was like 20%. Despite a quite high amount, no one wanted to negotiate the rate. It's just ridiculous

I remembered why I never use exchanges. it was the first time I was forced to use one in like 15 yearsโ€ฆ

I recommend to spend your VND next time you're in Vietnam
nerdontour in #bali 16h
Same experience as zpqugqhcrv I think physical money exchange is like the traditional taxi. Often overpriced, low quality and scam-prone. In every destination. Luckily, the former is being replaced by the fintechs like Wise and Revolut. The latter by e-hailing like Uber and Grab.
I did some research in this notion which is probably only useful to figure out the rough location for each hospital, but if you live centrally it wont be an issue.
I'm running out of time in bkk so i just did burmungrun despite all the anti-recommendations here and in reddit.
I'm doing it tomorrow afternoon, so if you still haven't booked DM me if you have any questions.

Anyone in Tokyo want to meet up or cowork next Tuesday or Wednesday?
What are some of your favorite destinations for hiking, surfing, skiing, and other nature activities? Iโ€™ve kind of outgrown the party lifestyle, and donโ€™t like being in โ€œhypeโ€ or trendy places. I like where I am now but there isnโ€™t a digital nomad community here
hiking: Portugal (Madeira, Sintra), Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, Patagonia, Brazil (Rio, Bahia (going to check soon))
I think Peru is next on my list
its amazing, food is the best in LatAm, people are nice and mountains are amazing

I recommend to spend as less time as possible in Lima
What places did you like hiking
I passed through Lima a few years ago, it was very dirty
I'm in Copacabana. Will be around the whole day but I leave Rio tomorrow
for first time, just stay in Cusco and hike around

I was busy for month (while working during the week)
Whoa thanks for sharing, Iโ€™m stealing your questions for the doctor ๐Ÿ˜‚ will be curious to see how it goes. Iโ€™ve been to Burungrun before and it is a lux experience
Trying to make that longevity leaderboard
Just make sure you go to Cusco from May - August. These next few months thereโ€™s be rainy season if I remember
Thank you so much xadrcnoomd and deozwtlhybwjlqgq Im in Ubud next week, if you are around lets have a drink:)

I wouldnโ€™t confirm the price topic regarding taxi vs uber but yes uber has dynamic pricing and if you catch a special time it can get expensive. But the price is definitely not almost the same like for a taxi
Any useful "travel apps for Germany" you recommend?
Bolt I use as default in Europe, installing Uber as backup ;)
By the way, regarding roaming.
The best roaming appears to be with Georgian Silknet.
Magti and Beeline have different roaming coverage - in some places Beeline is better, in others Magti. Neither covers Maldives and Philippines.
Magti doesn't work in India and Indonesia, while Beeline does. However, Beeline doesn't work in South Korea.
Silknet has the best coverage. They still don't have Tanzania, but they cover many more countries than other operators: they even have the Caribbean!
Argentina is available with all operators. Paraguay is only available with Magti. Uruguay and Peru are only available with Silknet. Chile and Colombia aren't available with any operator.
Africa coverage is much better with Silknet. But Tanzania is only available with Magti. Kenya is available with Beeline and Silknet.
So I'm probably going to switch to Silknet. Beeline has terrible reception in Batumi... And good roaming coverage wouldn't hurt.

That's incorrect. They just don't list some countries on their roaming page info for some reason. Magti works everywhere except possibly Taiwan (which we learned recently from another group chat member)

Hi everyone, just joined the chat. Iโ€™m in the vancouver area if anyone wants to meet up or set up a co-working time
Surfing : taghazout morocco, lombok Indo, puerto Escondido Mexico - itโ€™s hard to have non hype places and a community at the same time tho
If you could give yourself advice to watch out for while working from other countries, what would it be?
I consider places like Medellin and Mexico City to be hype, very found out. I donโ€™t mind some activity, just not into the nightclub stuff and partying all the time
no such place in my experience
it's better to use you phone as a hotspot most of the time
I am here, but only for freediving
Lisbon is good for this, but it's not cheap
NEIGHBORHOOD REVIEW: RIO EDITION ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท
Recreio dos Bandeirantes

I've recently spent 2 months in Recreio, one of the westernmost parts of Rio de Janeiro (AFTER Barra)

What I found surprised me:
- One of the only walkable parts of Zona Oeste
- Surprisingly safe! People walking with their phones
- Way cheaper than Zona Sul. 3-6 USD for all you can eat buffets
- Great Jiu Jitsu and some of the BEST beaches in Rio

This area has way less foreigners and tourists than in Zona Sul, being much more traditionally residential. The ones around are mostly at the surf lodges or at the jiu jitsu schools.

That was my routine too: Work hard, hit Gym/BJJ every day, dip into the beach and see the sunset afterwards. Amazing lifestyle. Circadian cycle totally clocked in.

Here is the detailed visual breakdown of the area:

Red๐Ÿ”ด Where you stay: Close to Posto 12. Right by the beach, the surf hostels, the restaurants and Gilka Machado street, where you will find markets, drugstores, barbers etc. Closer to Gilka: more walkable.

Green๐ŸŸข Nature escapes: Pedra do Pontal is a fun 20-30 min hike (see pic below), Parque Chico Mendes is a good weekend stroll, Sitio Burle Marx is a UN Heritage Site. Praia da Reserva is the emptiest beach you will find in Rio

Orange ๐ŸŸ City amenities: By Avenida das Amรฉricas you will find Recreio Shopping, a nice mall. Nearby you will find shops, BodyTech/Smartfit and other conveniences.

Purple ๐ŸŸฃ Surf spots: Praia do Pontal and Praia da Macumba have surfers there every day. Difficulty levels vary, from 2m waves to super chill entry-level points near the rock

Blue ๐Ÿ”ต Raw beaches: Here you have true wild beaches, some of the least developed and most beautiful in Rio. From a big natural pool at Praia do Secreto to the nudist beach at Abricรณ and the famous Grumari, this area is worth a visit

Black โšซ๏ธ Terreirรฃo favela: This is a "walk-in" favela, you will find a lot of commerce in the main street and won't be shot at for strolling through the fruit or fish markets. Still, def don't stay here and exercise precaution when passing by

Of course, life's not just roses...

I'd say the main cons of Recreio are:
- DISTANCE, DISTANCE, DISTANCE. Every party, event, friend you have visiting will be a 40-70 min car ride away. Because of this hassle, I was going just once a week to Zona Sul/Center. Curbs your social potential
- Infra: Some parts of Recreio are still "under development". There are some spots with plenty of trash on the streets, uneven walkways, and there were also a few electricity blackouts, albeit short
- Recent: As it's a much newer neighborhood, you will see none of the beautiful historical buildings of the other zones of Rio

Wrapping up: This is NOT the place if you are a party animal or are looking for the "vortex zone".

But if you are a beach, surf, roll, work guy. If you want the beauty of Rio but also some peace and quiet... then you'll probably like it as much as I did

Even if you don't decide to stay here, at least come visit once for the nature!
