Split, Croatia, was one of the coolest cities I have ever visited. The ancient ruins give you a real sense of perspective and remind you that nothing is permanent. Walking through the centuries-old streets and alleyways of Diocletian's Palace was an incredible experience, blending history with everyday modern life in a way I have never seen anywhere else.
The waterfront was amazing, providing the perfect place to stroll, people-watch, and take in the beauty of the Adriatic Sea. Exploring the city on foot, discovering excellent restaurants, hidden cafรฉs, and local shops was one of the highlights of the trip. I found several fantastic stores featuring regional salts and locally produced olive oils, both of which were outstanding and made for great souvenirs.
One of the best experiences was taking a day trip aboard a 12-person tour boat that explored several of Croatia's stunning islands and coastal attractions. We visited Hvar, Braฤ, Korฤula, Vis, the Blue Cave, the Blue Lagoon, and several other beautiful locations that showcased the incredible natural beauty of the region.
I would strongly recommend spending several days in Split rather than treating it as a quick stop. The city has a unique energy and character that takes time to appreciate, and a longer stay provides a much better understanding of what life is like in this remarkable coastal city.

Ljubljana is a stunning city and one of the most beautiful places I visited in Slovenia. I would absolutely recommend making time to see it. The city is incredibly romantic and charming, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for exploring on foot.
One unexpected highlight was discovering several art installations by the renowned Parisian street artist Invader, whose mosaic works are scattered throughout the city and add an element of surprise and fun to a visit.
I would also highly recommend spending time along the river walk, crossing the city's beautiful bridges, and enjoying the many cafรฉs that line the historic center. Ljubljana combines culture, history, art, and natural beauty in a way that makes it a truly memorable destination.

Venice was incredibly beautiful and absolutely worth seeing, but it was also extremely overcrowded. I would not recommend visiting the major tourist areas during peak hours, particularly between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., when the crowds are at their worst. For the best experience, explore early in the morning or later in the evening when the city is much more enjoyable and easier to appreciate.

Rovinj

Rovinj, Croatia, was the most romantic little place I have ever visited in my life. From the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into a storybook. The winding cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, waterfront views, and relaxed pace of life created an atmosphere that was both charming and unforgettable.
If you're looking for a destination to spend meaningful time with someone you love, Rovinj is exactly the kind of small-town escape you dream about. Whether it was strolling through the old town, enjoying a meal by the sea, or simply getting lost among the narrow alleyways, every moment felt special.
There was something magical about Rovinj that is difficult to put into words. It perfectly balances beauty, history, and intimacy in a way that few places can. It is an incredibly special place that will hold a spot in my heart for the rest of my life, and one that I hope to return to someday.

The trip to Barcelona, spanning May through June 2024, was centered in a quiet township outside the city called Alella, offering a relaxed base with convenient access to the vibrant core of Barcelona via a short 25-minute bus ride into areas near the cathedral, Plaรงa de Catalunya, and surrounding districts. The experience combined both urban exploration and regional discovery, with memorable day trips to Girona, Figueres, and Montserrat enhancing the journey. Highlights included wandering through the historic charm of the Gothic Quarter and El Born, enjoying the diverse and high-quality food scene, relaxing along the beach, and taking in the cityโs remarkable architectureโespecially the iconic works of Gaudรญ, with the Sagrada Familia standing out as a truly unforgettable landmark. Overall, Barcelona left a lasting impression as one of the most enjoyable and inspiring cities visited, with a clear intention to return.
