My hotel is charging like 500RMB ($7USD) for a t-shirt, haha. So I need to find a cheap laundry place a la Thailand, here in Shanghai. Iโm in the Jingโan area. Anyone knows?

Hi everyone,
I would love to hear what you'd like me to build next on Nomad List, or any other product/feature feedback ideas you have.
It's been 6+ years now but I'm in this for the long term and with the boost remote work got last year it's even more exciting to work on Nomad List than ever.
Current roadmap is here: twitter.com/levelsio/status/1363204985488572417?s=20 and pbs.twimg.com/media/EusS9PKXEAUR8xp?format=jpg&name=4096x4096
The next products/features I have planned:
- ๐ Rebase: visa, residency and immigration services for remote workers
- ๐Courses: learn the steps how to go remote and travel/relocate
- ๐ Gov liaison: diplomacy services to the governments to help us lobby for nomads and for them to attract remote workers
Thanks a lot!
What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.
As part of signing up for this website I was hoping I would come across a list of Visa and/or Residency requirements by country ideally in a table format to assist with decision making. Does anybody recommend any other websites that might present the information in this format (or Google Spreadsheet)?
I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.
Hi guys,
After the Netherlands, the Bay Area, Colorado and being on the van life for 8 months, I am now in Sedona, AZ with a few other digital nomads. We are sharing a home here and are wondering if there are more like minded people in the area.
We do a bunch of hikes and campouts in the northern of Arizona. If you would like to connect with us, please do so :)

Has anyone figured out a way to get setup with a virtual number and internet connection anywhere you go?
Hi everybody. I live and work in Germany and want to go to Canary Islands for 6 months to work from there. I'm going to keep my current job, just change the "home" in the home office part of things. Are there any tax issues I have to be aware of? I was reading about becoming a residence after 183 days, thus having to pay taxes there plus my employer having to register there. Does anybody know how it works exactly? Thanks a lot!
Winter is coming and Iโm feeling the ache of travelling after being stuck in the same place since the Pandemic started. Wondering if anyone is travelling right now? If so, where are you currently located and how is the situation where you are?
Hi Guys,
Iโm planning out my next stops after leaving Medellin, Colombia soon where I can hunker down and get some work done with fast wifi and cheap living. Will be in Mexico first so starting a look there but wondering if coming back down to South America might make more sense?
My main concerns are budget and fast enough wifi for me to work from home. Other considerations are some nomad community (ideally also some English speaking expats as my Spanish is basic) and warm enough weather.
Thanks in advance!
Daily/hourly pass needed.
Canโt work in normal cafรฉ because having clientโs laptop for security reasons, canโt use open networks. Working for R&D. Also laptop is so huge it doesnโt fit normal cafe environment because itโs far from discreet.
Ola!
I am starting soon with my Digital Nomad Lifestyle and I need to buy a lot of gear.
This are the most expensive parts.
So in which Country should I buy the stuff? I am living in Germany at the moment and its not really cheap here. Would be great to save some money and see the country. 2 Flys with 1 Punch
Thanks for your time!
Best wishes Vesko
Hey guys โ Iโm looking for the best cheap places to be a digital nomad in Central and South America. Priority list: 1) cheap 2) social 3) strong internet. Iโm in debt and need to cut my cost of living as low as possible. But hey, I still have to live it up. THanks!
Iโm making plans to travel from Portland, OR to Canggu, Bali in a little over a month. Looking around at flights now. Can anyone lend experience on the most affordable flight path (airports and airlines) to take?
I subscribe to Scottโs Cheap Flights, but nothing obvious has shown up in that direction (Portland, OR -> Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -> Bali ???). Iโve so far just been looking with Google Flights + Momondo. Any other tips from more experienced travelers are much appreciated.
If youโll be in Canggu Sep/Oct, Iโll return any favors with tasty eats and cold drinks
Hi Team,
Iโm totally new here so forgive me if Iโve made some horrible faux pas by asking a question so soon
Iโm a kiwi but have been a digital nomad for over three years now, and have spent the last year or so in China, currently in Shanghai.
Are there many other digital nomads in this part of the world? Most of the international friends Iโve made locally are students or corpo expats, Iโve not come across that many entrepreneurial / nomadic types here - the visa and internet issues certainly make this understandable, though the country very much rewards long term travel.
Would be curious to see if there are many other like minded folk here?
Cheers,
Nathan
I hear more and more about digital nomads (mainly from the US and Canada) flying cheap (almost for free) by taking advantage of bonuses given by banks / credit card companies. Iโm not exactly sure how the system works.
Is it also possible to do for Europeans ? If so, how ?
If not, do know any other hacks to fly cheaper ?
Many thanks for your help.
Hi,
This is quite a specific question but can be generic in term of method.
I need to get some time out of Bogota so I can come on the remaining days of my touristic visa in order to enrol in a cheapest university to study Spanish.
So basically going out for 2 weeks, come back, do the papers during the 3 remaining weeks.
Iโm trying to find the cheapest flight + hotel combination for this period of time using Nomadlist.
Anybody has a better method/experience?
Just thought I would give a tip for something thats been amazingly useful for me recently.
Itโs basically a pre-paid debit card, where itโs free to exchange into Euro GBP and Dollar.
There are no costs to use it. You upload money into it and then it exchanges it at โinter-bank ratesโ - the same rates as the banks get I believe.
No commisions, No costs, No discrepancies in FX rates.
I reckon I must have saved around ยฃ150 this month in various fees for things.
Another good one is transferwise - if you have to send money direct to someones bank account - there are charges but very small (like ยฃ2 to send ยฃ400)
Hope it can help a few people out there and give the banks a good duff up at the same time
Hello !
I am wondering how do you manage your laundry work flow.
I ask this question because since I investigate the minimalist way of life I only have 4 teeshirts.
So I changed my habits and I wash my teeshirt, my boxer and my socks while taking a shower (takes me 6 more minutes).
How about you ?
Are you reducing your laundry flow, like by wearing merinos wool clothes ?
Are you going to lavomatic one time a week because you have enough clothes for all the week ?
Are you going to lavomatic more often that once a week because you have only few clothes ?
Are you handwashing your clothers ? how and how often ?
