Ada thatโ€™s not true. The majority of digital nomads are either employees or freelancers. Itโ€™s just the people more public online are entrepreneurs. I ran a company for a while but itโ€™s a lot of work relatively.
Anyone in Playa del Carmen thatโ€™s want to meet for coffee?
whos coming for free cities conference in roatan?
how is the country for nomads?
Itโ€™s surprisingly good internet in the places Iโ€™ve been so far. And super cheap. You can have dinner with a drink here usually for not more than 6โ‚ฌ which is crazy. But yea you donโ€™t have like nice internet cafe or coworking spaces like in Cape Town or so. So probably not made for nomads yet
Hi David, actually this is what I meantโ€ฆI put freelancers also in the cathegory of business owners because it is similar and different than being an employee. So yes, what I see online is that most digital nomads are freelancers but I donโ€™t come across many nomads who are employees so I would like to know more about this too. I imagine that having your own business must be very stressful. So now you are back to freelancing?
how safe is it

best spots (Antananarivo?)

english level?
Hi Ada,

About the colleague that mentioned creating a US LLC, I think what he meant is it's very common for when you get remote jobs, even if it's for a single client, something fixed. It's more resembling an employee relationship where you will still be hired as a contractor and then provide the services through a business. You basically provide services as if you were a freelancer but if you really stop to think about it, you're an employee. This is quite common. I know a lot of digital nomads that do this and that's definitely a possibility, right? If you get a remote job many times it's not going to be as an employee with the full regulations of an employee and Social Security contributions, etc. It's going to be as a contractor
Hi Francisco, yes it is clear for me, this is what I understood that this is the most common way of working. So far I have been an employee my whole life so I just need to learn more about this because it is a huge and scary step๐Ÿซ
well thats not my specialty but i do have a friend that helps people find, prepare and apply for full remote positions. glad to intro
I appreciate any kind of advise and information that would help me understand remote world better๐Ÿ˜‡ I am happy to talk to anybody who already has experience
Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹
I'm Salah from Lebanon ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง, 22, working remotely as an AI Engineer.
Only been to Turkey ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท so far, but the nomad lifestyle has really caught my interest and it's something I'm hoping to try in a few months.
For now I'm just here to hang around and get a feel for it all.
Nice to meet everyone ๐Ÿ˜
I have been in Paphos for 5 years. Frankly, I would not even consider holidays here, but staying long term is a different game. You really need to get in touch with the local communities, though, otherwise it can get quite boring. Oh, and hey, Chris.
Ey, I was planning to live in Paphos because I love the variety of sea and mountain nearby (in addition to language) but this is precisely what I was considering as I'm single...I'm guessing nomads are leaving and coming, not stable so maybe you know some people and next year noone is there anymore.
I've heard dating is quite terrible, as with all nomad spaces: 80/20 guys/gals. There is an expat community, or at least there used to be ONE. Since vibecoding became a thing everyone tries to build some commercial community-lookalike, fracturing the landscape. It's quite annoying.
Hey guys,

Is there any recommendations for ur hidden gems spots in Valencia? ( restaurants, coworking , gym, events,..)

Any God-led entrepreneurs here?

Hope everyone had the best weekend๐Ÿ™Œ
Which indie hacker group are you talking about? Hackumvit?
Hey Niklas, interesting question! How do you define a God-led entrepreneur for yourself?
hi any event in constanศ›a

Hey guys! Any of you in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria? Iโ€™d love to meet other locals or international living there - I just moved :)
Hey everyone, I will be in Asuncion for the first time in my life, so what is a must-see/visits? Thanks!
I feel quiet save actually in the most places. In Antananarivo you shouldnโ€™t walk around at night. But the rest is fine. English level itโ€™s a bit a struggle. Most people speak basic English but itโ€™s not that easy without google translate
I can say that since I donโ€™t speak French ๐Ÿ˜… if you speak French or at least a little bit you will be fine
Iโ€™ve been here a month and was only in Antananarivo which was okay. But wouldnโ€™t spend so much time there. Then Antsirabe Small town. Was nice. Then ile Sainte Marie. Itโ€™s island vibe. Nice as well. And now I am in Morondava.

Would say itโ€™s my fav so far.

Hi, I am PSRao from Hyderabad.
Rรผcken
Hi all โ€” I'm in Tbilisi now, looking for a whole apartment from around
7 September. Not a room, just me, quiet and tidy.

Two weeks to one month to start. I don't know yet how long I'm staying
in Georgia, so I'd rather not sign for longer up front โ€” but there's a
good chance I'll want to extend. Happy to pay the full period in advance.

Budget $450โ€“550/month. Cheaper is genuinely better than fancier.

Areas: Chugureti, Marjanishvili, Vera, Sololaki, Mtatsminda, Avlabari โ€”
I'll be working out of The Hub on Terenti Graneli, so walking distance
beats square metres. Vake and Saburtalo also fine.

What I actually need: a proper desk and chair, fast wifi, AC, and a
freezer (I travel with a blender). Most of all โ€” quiet. I'm a light
sleeper, so courtyard-facing beats street-facing, and please tell me if
there's any renovation or construction going on in or around the building.

I can view this week. Czech, non-smoker, no pets, no parties, happy to
look after plants while you're away.
Any God-led entrepreneurs/leaders in Georgia?

Have the best start into the week!
In cancun this week, anyone here?
Here, you in Addis

How is Ethiopia for nomads? Is it hard to get a decent internet connection? In Kenya now and wondering where to go next
Hi Phil. The issue with Bali is that it's now saturated with nomads. Have you been here before? If not, you will be surprised. Being a DN here is not niche, it's the norm.

I think that's why you didn't get a response. You asked if there are any content creators around. For those that are here, we know that there are a ton of them.

I'd recommend you just walk into a coworking space, cafe or similar establishment and just start talking to people. Basically everyone here is working online.

Best IMO is Bwork but you can try Tribal, Omni, etc
Hola! if anyone is curious to see what one of those old mansions in downtown Lima looks like from the inside, let me know! My family has one of those ๐Ÿ˜Š
Not sure about internet because I went 8 years ago and didnโ€™t really work.

I loved Ethiopia, the culture, nature and food.
Any vibe coder in Da Nang building stuff in the morning in a coffee near Son Tra? I am building my project every morning from 9am-12pm, want to exchange knowledge/experience/feedbacks or just have a coffee. Let me know.
Hello from Curaรงao
I used Ethio telecom, 5G depends on location but enough for me for video calling
Iโ€™m planning to be in tulum / playa for oct 12-nov13.
Iโ€™ve found a few places on Airbnb that have a gym, fast internet, etc . Anyone else in the area already and need a housemate or anything like that?
Or just know where I can talk to the owners directly instead of Airbnb
Anyone in ulluwatu now?
Hey, Iโ€™m arriving in Salvador on Sunday and I just read now that you need a return ticket or a ticket out of the country for entering. How strictly is that being handled?
Yeah. There are Ethio telecom and Safaricom networks and theyโ€™re pretty sufficient. Free WiFi is also available in almost all hotels
I guess you may go down to Hai Chau, there is a club
frontierclub[.]ai/faq
I enter through Sรฃo Paulo and they just asked me how long I was going to stay. Said 2 months. I bought the fake return ticket just in case but they didnโ€™t ask me for that
I will be there from January till March 27 ๐Ÿ˜Š
Never heard about the return ticket thing on Brazil
I've never had problem (but I'm Mercosur). Some european/asian friends have entered from Salvador, Rio, Sรฃo Paulo... always asked why, tourism, and perfectly fine.
I did for costa-rica, purchased a refundable ticket the day before (for a date after 3months) and after the immigration cancelled that ticket and waited for a police visit.
Me. Ilha do guajiru
Hi, I'm getting ready to jump ship from the beautiful PNW area of the USA to .... uh, not sure. Lol
I currently work about half the year in Antarctica but met my British boyfriend there and since we can't legally settle down anywhere together (nor do we want to) we're starting our nomadic adventure March 2027. I've been to roughly 20 countries, most solo, and have begun my temporary residency for Paraguay. Will see where life takes me and excited to connect with like-minded people!
I donโ€™t understand. Can you explain again?
Immigration asked for an onward ticket, I booked a ticket to El Salvador, they noted down some details from the ticket. I was concerned if cancelling would notify them, took a risk, there was no problem once I was inside and out before the limit.
In Larnaca Spanish nomad community is growing quickly. To me the lesson for Cyprus is rather that expecting things to do, propose what you want to do (maybe create a whatsapp group or something like that).

For example I began the coffee tribe (to just go together to work to a coffee shop once per week) or amazon larnaca (spanish people only there though)

But that idea may sounds like a lot of work or overwhelming. I understand. I've been there coming from Bali with 100 events per day to no events per day xd

Hi! Thinking of heading to NZ in the next month or so! Any tips for surf/climb and meeting nice people? Thank you!
Hey, I have tried Paphos for 2 weeks (Kato Paphos, so the center), and even now in the peak season, it's empty around 7pm : no live event or spontaneous music in the street, few cafes open and the dating scene isn't that because it's only people that want a house (so couple, or people with kids) that move there.

Also the streets are "noisy" (they are very narrow, so just one motorcycle creates a whole mess at night)

There are "shops" but it's for tourists : postal card, souvenir etc

If you want to meet a digital nomad, go to Cafe Nero or Costa coffee (whenever which city you choose)

I'm not into parties, but I just like to see some kind of life around :)

walking every night on the very long beach of Limassol is very pleasant. So I decided to move there a month ago and it's very refreshing : I already have a solid group of friends

Using Bumble BFF help btw, as a girl at least โ˜บ๏ธ voilร , this was my return on experience
Anyone in Montreal?
Hey everyone, I am Manh.

I am Vietnamese, I grew up in Germany, and right now I am in Montreal on a remote internship until December.

I work as an AI engineer. I build automation and agent tools, mostly with Claude and n8n. One is called finder and it is open source. The other is a personal OS I built to run my own life out of markdown files, and I use that one every day.

I am new to this. So far I have only been to Germany, Vietnam, Spain, France and Quebec, so this is the first time I am trying it properly.

In the next months I want to visit Ottawa, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, New York and Washington. If you are in any of them I would like to meet. Next year I want to do Europe or Asia, it depends on where my work lands.

One small thing. I run in Parc La Fontaine and I am looking for someone to run with. It is much better with company.

Nice to meet you all. I am happy to be here.
Any cool hotel style hostels with coworking and trips in CDMX? Kind of like how Selina used to be
Do you know some nice villages around Limassol? I don't like the city very much, too noisy and expensive. But to go there sometimes during the weekend is cool.
As much as I hate the slow connectivity in China, god itโ€™s so perfect in every other aspect. I would pay $100+ a month if I had super fast unlimited internet. But even the eSIMs are slower than WiFi in most Asian countries.

Now that I left it sucks. Forgot now I need to bring my wallet everywhere and get cash. Every Thai atm is $7.50 fee, so basically 1-2%, then no 2% cash back credit card and Iโ€™m losing out on 4%+ in long run being here smh
200 baht minimum at 7-11 for card. Itโ€™s been less than a year since I been here n forgot all about this stuff, time flys ๐Ÿ˜… I miss you chinaaaa

Use a trip.com unlimited eSIM it's about that much and plenty fast
khizrs in #china 1d
Dunno which country you are from but you can use Alipay plus to pay for stuff, I have Malaysia touch and go and pay with that in 7-11
Hey Da Nang folks! Will be there in a few days and I am checking coworking places, I will have one called Flux coworking next to my place, has anyone tried it before? Thanks!
Welcome! I heard HI4 are popular, but I personally going to Hanaโ€™s Coworking as itโ€™s close to my place
Iโ€™ve used almost all the China eSIMs lol
Oh dang nice, I thought Alipay was just China haha. Iโ€™ll be in Malaysia in December
