Iโve heard really great things about Medellin in Colombia, Tamarindo in Costa Rica as well as a new coworking and coliving space in San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua.
I would had Sao Paulo which is now full of co-working spaces. Sao Paulo is without doubt the latin South America, with 24 million people from all over the world the only really thing you may miss there is the beach, as it is as frenetic and cultural intensive as any metropolis around the world.
Thanks Joaomreis, I here Brazil can be a bit dangerous these days. And I am saying this from somebody who has traveled a lot in South America, so I am not talking from the perspective of somebody who is scared to travel. This was coming from other people who are expereinced travelers. Is that true?
Not true, lived there for 3 years without any problem. Itยดs not the safest place on earth but I also travelled all SA and itยดs one of the safest places to be in the region. The political disturbances did not affect that.
Playa del Carmen as mentioned above is an easy place to settle into. English is spoken enough for non-Spanish speakers to get around, they have large recognized stores like Office Depot and Walmart, and buying a scooter to get around can be done in a day.
That said, itโs a tourist city. Youโre not going to really experience the culture of Mexico anywhere along the Yucatan coast. You will run into more drunk Americans/Canadians than Mexicans who work outside the tourism industry. We lived there for 3 months, it was ok but happy to have moved on.
Buenas Aires is great if you want something more urban - English can get you around, plenty to do, great food, culture, music, and cheap flights to nearby places like Iguazu Falls! If you donโt mind a smaller town and can speak a little Spanish, Guanajuato, Mexico is amazing. Itโs about 60% the cost of Playa and the culture here is amazing. Weโre home basing in Guanajuato. 
Honestly, It depends on what you are into and what climate you prefer? There are lots of good options. Iโve had great experiences throughout ColombiaโCartagena, Medellin and Cali. Colombia in general is hard to beat, as it has a little something for everyone, good quality of life, gorgeous people and scenery, decent enough internet. If you like beaches and a more rugged lifestyle Nicaragua is an adventure. Theres a brand new coliving/coworking spot in San Juan del Sur, a surfing spot in Nicaragua, that Iโm hearing good things about. If you want something different you could try the scenic little colonial city of Antigua, Guatemala; thereโs a Hubspot there thatโs really nice and itโs a cheap place to take private Spanish lessons and climb volcanos. Costa Rica is easy, friendly and gorgeous; though definitely more expensive than elsewhere in CA. Additionally, Iโve spent the last 2 winters living and working from Mexicoโthere are countless great places throughout the countryโMexico City, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Oaxaca, Playa del Carmen (all of these cities have great coworking options and lots to offer). Chile has some of the best internet in all of South America, a cooler climate and a different vibe. Also Buenos Aires, aka the Paris of the south, is pretty amazing with good short term rental choices, plus amazing wine & steak

Hey, I think I can answer this question. It really depends on what you are looking for, but here is my top 3:
Medellin, Colombia - While it has bad rep in the past, itโs quite safe now. There are places where you shouldnโt flash your camera, but that is mostly limited to poorer neighbourhoods. Itโs a fantastic city - Nice cafes, Spanish schools, Co-working spaces. It is also a great place to go to Cocora Valley, Guatape among other places. The nature is something from a movie. I can guarantee that you will fall in love with it. Sometimes it can be tricky to find a place with good internet connection, but that can be sorted out.
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - Super safe and located next to the Caribbean coast. While apartments might be bit more expensive than in Medellin, you will find that food is soooo much cheaper than in Colombia. Iโve never used co-working spaces, but there are quite a few here. Internet is quite reliable.
Cusco, Peru - If you are more adventurous and not afraid of altitude, this is a place to go. Basically it is a central city from which to go to Machu Pikchu, Sacred Valley, Rainbow mountain e.t.c. While it is touristy, it is for a reason. In regards to safety, I never felt unsafe there. Youโd need to find a place with good internet. We stayed in an AirBnB place that was half startup incubator / half apartment for rent and internet was quite good there.
There are others, but these cities might no be worth staying in for 3 months.
Thank you so much! I have spent a lot of time in Colombia. In fact I am considering living there. I just thought I would experience another place for a few months before I settle there and take on issues of resedency visas, taxes etcโฆ Playa del carmen sounds like a great option.
What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.

I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.
After being told it's unworkable in Puerto Escondido, looking for alternatives :)
What I mean is, for example, since most of the EU has banned Americans, if I live in Guatemala and will be traveling FROM Guatemala to the EU, could I get in? Or does the ban count for all Americans regardless of where they live?

My idea is to stay as low as 6 months and as long as a year (maybe, who knows) over Lisbon after doing some analysis from many cities in Europe.
I'm an Argentinian and Chilean (both nationalities) so... no Euro-pass for me (getting my Italian nationality could take 2 years easily). I'm also a remote worker and I have a really good income (I work for a Silicon Valley company) so I can show more than enough resources to stay in the country.
Everything I see online doesn't inspire me much confidence (most sites looks a bit scammy) and this is not a "vacation stay"... I want to be clear my head far away from Argentina right now. If someone has a good website, recommendations, etc I will super appreciate.

I'm preparing my Portuguese D7 long-term visa application and one of the required documents is proof of travel insurance with medical coverage. However, as an Australian citizen, if put that as my country of residence in many travel insurance companies' quick quote forms, I'm unable to get ANY insurance coverage at all because of the current travel ban out of Australia, and the Australian govt's 'Do Not Travel' advice to ALL countries. I know that Aussies are applying for, and successfully getting visas from the Portuguese Consulate here, so where and how are they fulfilling this insurance requirement if insurers aren't selling any coverage? Does anybody know or have any ideas?

We're leaving in a month to go travelling. Our first destination is still to be confirmed, but will likely be Poland or Slovakia. We will be moving around every month or two to different destinations.
The question we have is: what do people do with phones/ phone numbers when hopping from country to country? Ideally we'd just like one number for the whole trip (even better, the number we already have) wherever we go, rather than getting new SIMs with different numbers.
This is just so it's easier to keep in contact with family/ clients/ etc.

We are in Umbria until August 31. We've been here since March, but crisis-level visa extensions are over. After that we have to leave the EU. We would like to stay out of the USA (our home) due to it's covid crisis, at the same time we want to be responsible about travel. Ideally we would not travel at all, rather stay hidden in the countryside of Umbria forever until covid is more under control globally, but here we are!
So we must leave the Schengen zone. We should avoid USA. We should avoid long air travel.
We were thinking Croatia.
Do you recommend a route to Croatia? We are open to long train rides. Ideally not long ferry rides. Is there a ferry route under 4 hours? I read about it...I don't see it. If not, the other option is to make our way north and up over to Croatia via train.

I'm a dual citizen of America and France with my resident based in the America. Can I travel to the EU using my French passport?
We're looking for a country in South East Asia that can function as our base, mainly for tax purposes. Meaning it will have to be a place where we can stay for the 183 days required without too much hassle.
We've been looking at Thailand, but have heard that it's very hard to do visa runs etc., so what other can you recommend? Indonesia looked like a good option, but the income rate is a flat 20% and very high for the region.
Background:
Iโm an EU national IT specialist, recently decided to become a digital nomad. I just left my permanent job in Germany and opened a UK based LTD (for a better taxation) to start a new career as remote working IT contractor. I also want to become a UK resident and pay personal income tax there BUT I donโt want to rent/buy a place because I have no interest in physically living in the UK, as a nomad I will be traveling abroad 100% of the time.
So I just need a UK address where Iโm registered as a resident and could receive mail, but I would never actually be there. I could rent a place and keep it empty but that would be a total waste of money.
Question:
How do I find somebody who could give me an official residence at his/her address and keep my name on the door? Iโm ok with paying a reasonable monthly fee for this โserviceโ (but not as high as a rent), and give assurance in whatever form that I will never pretend to physically live there. I have no close friends in the UK to ask for this favor, and trying to propose this to a random landlord would be just weird since they are not familiar with the needs of a digital nomad.
Maybe you guys can suggest me somebody who understand the situation and want to make some extra cash every month to pay the bills? Iโm ready to meet in person, provide full proof of identity or any other document, and to make a written agreement that gives the landlord the freedom to cancel this โsituationโ at any time.
Note:
This is NOT for tax evasion, itโs the opposite! I WANT to pay full tax as UK resident, I just donโt want to waste money on a rent which I will literally never use.

Currently in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and heading to Santa Teressa, Costa Rica next week.
Then Aruba in the Caribbean Sea for Christmas and New Year.
However I feel I want to head back to Central America to bring living costs down, rather than staying in the Caribbean Sea among the expensive Islands.
This means I have around 2 - 2,5 month of unplanned travelling.
Any digital nomads who have ideas about where to head in that timeframe?

I thought to have a Visa for tourists for 3 months and renewal the visa for 6 months. Is that hard to renewal a tourist Visa in Colombia?

Hey guys, this was my first year as a Canadian nomad.
As far as I know of, Canadians donโt pay taxes if they do not live in the country for 6 months.
But Iโd like to talk to an accountant or someone who does Canadian taxes specifically for expats and nomads to get clear on the rules and for help on my return coming up.
Does anyone know someone who specializes in Canada who can help? Iโve seen plenty of US recommendations but none for us canucks.

I vaguely remember hearing about such a service before, but Iโm drawing a blank on the name. Basically I left my tablet on a connecting flight in Europe, right before my main flight to Thailand. They have my tablet and are willing to ship it out for me, but people have warned me thereโs a big risk of it getting โlost in the mailโ if I ship something expensive like that to Thailand.
Iโm wondering if thereโs a service or community, where I can find a nomad whoโs in Europe/heading to Thailand soon, so I can have it shipped to them in Europe and pay them to ferry it down here for me? I met someone in Budapest a ways back who had built something for this type of use-case, but I canโt remember the name of it. Any help would be appreciated!

Have been stalking craigslist for weeks. Quite a few properties posted. But after sending 20 inquiries have 0 replies. Beginning to wonder if itโs a city that requires on-the-ground apartment hunting. Can anyone whoโs been through Prague before clue me in?
Will be there from April 10th until July. Need a basic, short-term, central room rental. Nothing fancy. Will be working from a co-working space. Under 9000 CZK seems reasonable from what Iโve seen.
P.S. If anyone else is Prague-bound this summer and room hunting, leave a note! Definitely up for sharing a place with other nomads. Or just hanging out / having co-working sessions.
