Dahab is widely appreciated for its warm climate year-round and the relaxed, chill atmosphere. It's considered a haven for watersports enthusiasts, especially for freediving and scuba diving, thanks to its vibrant coral reefs and popular dive spots like the Blue Hole. Visitors mention that people are generally friendly, and the expat community is strong, especially since COVID, making for a social environment with numerous cafes and restaurants along the bay.
However, there are repeated mentions of poor internet quality, making it challenging for remote work unless you rely on a strong 4G connection. Living costs have reportedly increased, especially rental prices and supermarket goods, which might be surprising for a small town. Cleanliness is another concern, with trash in the streets noted by multiple visitors. Though some feel Dahab is safe, others have raised concerns about harassment toward women, which could be important for female travelers to consider.
In summary, Dahab is ideal for a short- to medium-term stay for beach life and diving, as long as you can handle the internet limitations and rising costs. It's less suited for those looking for long-term living with city comforts or reliable infrastructure.

Dahab is a very chill place, if you are into scuba diving, free diving, or want to learn that is the place, cause of the beatiful sea life and corals reef.
People are very friendly, looks safe for women, lot of restaurants and cafes by the bay.
Internet is not so good, better find a place with some decent internet and also mandatory to have a 4G simcard as backup, because is not so stable. I stayed 1 month and would go back again.

Very underrated place. Internet is not the fastest, but with a vodafone simcard, it's more than enough.

Rental prices at the end of 2021 are nearly double then the years before. This means the value of money makes no more sense. A typical price for a one bedroom apt is now 8000 EGP. May be it will get down to normal when more places in the world are open again.

I have been all over Egypt, and def the worse internet is in Dahab. I really don't know how this statistics work. Data is about 8 mbps download and 4,5 upload. With wifi you will get the same, It also depends on your location around the village. In other areas in Egypt was much better,

Dahab is amazing! Thanks to being one of the few warm and open places during covid, there's a great professional expat crowd here right now. I love it and plan to extend my stay by a couple months.

Dahab became hard to live in, supermarkets are very expensive than the real costs of things. Rubbish everywhere in the streets. Every now and then we here a lot about not friendly to women acts. I dont recommend living in Dahab.
