I would love to hear what you'd like me to build next on Nomad List, or any other product/feature feedback ideas you have.

It's been 6+ years now but I'm in this for the long term and with the boost remote work got last year it's even more exciting to work on Nomad List than ever.

What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.

As part of signing up for this website I was hoping I would come across a list of Visa and/or Residency requirements by country ideally in a table format to assist with decision making. Does anybody recommend any other websites that might present the information in this format (or Google Spreadsheet)?

I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.

Has anyone figured out a way to get setup with a virtual number and internet connection anywhere you go?

Hi everybody. I live and work in Germany and want to go to Canary Islands for 6 months to work from there. I'm going to keep my current job, just change the "home" in the home office part of things. Are there any tax issues I have to be aware of? I was reading about becoming a residence after 183 days, thus having to pay taxes there plus my employer having to register there. Does anybody know how it works exactly? Thanks a lot!

Can anyone recommend a good accommodation website for Chiang Mai?

Winter is coming and I’m feeling the ache of travelling after being stuck in the same place since the Pandemic started. Wondering if anyone is travelling right now? If so, where are you currently located and how is the situation where you are?

We’re researching places to use as a home base next year, and are leaning towards Mexico or Panama for 10 months (with 1 week “vacations” to explore surrounding countries)

But, I want to settle some place where the infrastructure is good enough for fast, reliable internet - fast enough to run live webinars without worrying that I’ll be S.O.L due to internet issues when it’s time to go live.

And ideally, I’d like to be on the coast… I like to have ocean/beach access without the need for a drive.

And not in a malaria zone (just saying, since Panama in particular has many areas that I’d rule out simply due to the need for malaria prevention meds)… it’s one thing to take that stuff for a few weeks long trip, but I don’t want to take it for months on end.

Thoughts?

Thailand - Krabi vs. Koh Lanta in March

Hey Nomads -
So I’m looking to leave my current base in Chiang Mai, Thailand to head back down south in March to escape burning season.
I’m looking at staying for a month in either Krabi or Koh Lanta. I already spent a month on Koh Samui which was ok but I’m looking to explore the other side now and it seems this will be a good time of year seasonally to be on those islands.

Here are my main considerations and would love any thoughts:

1. Housing - As the islands are much more expensive, I think it would be the most sensible to get an apartment or rental for a month. I got a good deal in Samui when I stayed for a month.
   -A/C is a must

• Strong, Hi-speed wifi where I’m staying as I need to do video calls from home

2. More walkable (or as much as possible) areas are preferred as I don’t use a motorbike and transportation back and forth to restaurants, etc. can get expensive
   Walking distance to the beach would be great but price is a big more important factor

I don’t necessarily care about being near a co-working space as much of my work on video calls requires me to work from home anyway for privacy.

Anyone stayed on Krabi or Koh Lanta & have any suggestions?

I want to DN India for 3 months (or more) and the country is huge so I’m not sure how to start planning this, maybe you guys can help
My major concern is the internet, from what I’ve read it’s really bad - is that true?
What am I looking for:

1. Spiritual oriented towns.
2. Near (or in) some beautiful nature (doesn’t necessarily have to be near a beach)
3. Decent speed internet. I can deal with unreliable internet that wont work all day long, but I can’t handle really slow internet.
4. 1 month stay in each town.

What am I NOT looking for:
Big cities like New Delhi.

Time - can be anytime of the year.
Weather - I don’t mind hot weather, but don’t want below 0 weather.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated, if what I’m looking for is even possible. Thanks!

I’m looking for somewhere to spend July in northern Spain. (Not that it matters but June we’re in Paris, August in Porto).

I’ve spent time in small Italian villages and loved the experience. I’m hoping to find something like that but in coastal Spain, I just don’t know the area at all yet. Suggestions?

Somewhere roughly in or between Galicia and Bilbao. Somewhere walkable to a half dozen small resturants/cafes/etc…

We built a waterside villa on Koh Samui with its own enterprise grade leased-line fiber optic connection from UIH which gives 25M/25M. Worked well during the 2 months we recently spent there. Interested to know if anyone has worked from Samui and what their experiences are with other internet providers and if they would recommend working from Samui to others in the future ? I’ve decided I want to take a break from my way of living and go nomad for a few months (at least). I do music so WiFi is not my main concern, all I need is good inspiration and nice people around me.

I am looking for a mid-cheap / safe place, preferably having a nice beach around. I’d also like to socialize with people from different cultures. Meet and make new friends.
I got sick from living in Europe/US, so I’d rather be far away from these continents.

My choices have come down do Costa Rica, but I’m reading some good stuff about Medellin, Mexico, Panama. I’ve spend quite some time in Asia traveling as well (I love Bali and Koh Lanta), but I’ve never been to South America, so I’d rather go in that direction.

What would you suggest?

I’m in the market for a cafe I can work in with all the usual Digital Nomad needs - wifi, tolerant owners, air conditioning.

It needs to be south of the airport in Bali, somewhere in Bukit. Any suggestions?
