I would love to hear what you'd like me to build next on Nomad List, or any other product/feature feedback ideas you have.

It's been 6+ years now but I'm in this for the long term and with the boost remote work got last year it's even more exciting to work on Nomad List than ever.

What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.

As part of signing up for this website I was hoping I would come across a list of Visa and/or Residency requirements by country ideally in a table format to assist with decision making. Does anybody recommend any other websites that might present the information in this format (or Google Spreadsheet)?

I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.

Has anyone figured out a way to get setup with a virtual number and internet connection anywhere you go?

Hi everybody. I live and work in Germany and want to go to Canary Islands for 6 months to work from there. I'm going to keep my current job, just change the "home" in the home office part of things. Are there any tax issues I have to be aware of? I was reading about becoming a residence after 183 days, thus having to pay taxes there plus my employer having to register there. Does anybody know how it works exactly? Thanks a lot!

Winter is coming and I’m feeling the ache of travelling after being stuck in the same place since the Pandemic started. Wondering if anyone is travelling right now? If so, where are you currently located and how is the situation where you are?

Medellin, Bogota or Panama? Any recommendations on a 6 month stay with the intent of learning spanish and running an ecommerce business(good wifi)?

I’m in the unfortunate situation (and true Digital Nomad’s worst nightmare) where the Canadian tax man (i.e. the CRA) has decided to come calling. And calling hard.

Any recommendations for Canadian Tax Accounts / Tax Lawyers specializing digital nomads / expats / non residents?

Here’s the deal:

I’m a digital nomad living in Thailand who has NOT lived in canada since the middle of 2011, and in that time, only been back to canada three times for a brief visit (with a total period between all those years of less than 90 days out of the 5 years).

I make an online income (affiliates, adsense, and such) of which all if it does not derive from Canada. And as stated, I don’t live there anymore and haven’t in many years. I don’t own houses, cars, or anything (I do have a personal bank account though and a DL – you need those to function mostly). I’ve only used Canada as my bank account, from which I would send money abroad to live while outside of Canada, which was the entire period of time.

Anyways, the taxman back in Canada doesn’t know this (that I’m a non resident) and of course has now come to collect. I had income tax demands sent to an address (parents’) stating I owe a very high five figure balance in income tax and owe it right away.

The whole digital nomad thing has just come to life the past years and when I left Canada in 2011/2010, no one new much about making money online, how to pay taxes when you don’t live in your home country, etc. I was doing this earlier than most (from this forum, I gather it’s common now).

I assume I’ll probably need a Canadian tax accountant and mayhaps a tax lawyer versed in…well…digital nomads. I’m going to call the CRA (Canadian Revenue Agency) and try to explain that I don’t live there and haven’t (and I can prove it), but yea. It may take more than that.

At this point, I’ve been looking how to properly structure my affairs (creating an Estonian Corp, creating an Thailand corporation) to properly handle how I should structure things in the future, but in the meantime…

Advice or a recommendation for a specific tax specialist (i’m from BC, Canada if that helps) would be awesome.

Have any of you worked from Zanzibar? It’s mostly a vacation destination but the Internet is relatively good so we are planning to give working there a try in mid-July. Do you know any hotels, coffee shops or restaurants that might be particularly good for getting work done?

I’m looking for a great virtual assistant service that’s affordable. I looked into Zirtual and found it to be rather pricey. Anything out there that’s more reasonable? Basically, I’m looking for a virtual assistant who can help with research efforts, fact finding, and some other work related to a large writing project.

For businesses that involves B2B sales, how do you do it if you’re in the other side of the world (e.g. you’re in Thailand and your customers are enterprises in California)?

What are the top tips to thrive in this setup?

At this moment I am traveling the world. It has been a year since I have unsubscribed form the Netherlands and just keep on wanting to travel. I love the way I am living now but I do prefer to have a “home” base. And I think the best thing todo is get residency in a country where they are not counting the days you are there and has a territorial tax system.

My picks are:
Costa Rica, Panama, Malaysia

My question is however, because I am not going to be there alot I think its a waste of money to rent a appartment for 1500 or so per mont. Especially if I consider that my home address where I will be receiving bank docs etc I also do not want to have that sent to a sketchy home.

Do you happen to know a solution to this? For example would it be possible to have my home address at a Regus virtual office so that my mail will be handeled as wel?

I know the best option is to buy a house but that would be a very expensive mailbox

I am wanting a business address that I can use for invoicing, HMRC, and related things like hosting/domains etc. I get very little in the way of post because 99% of it is done online, but a service that redirects any mail to my parents home while I am abroad, would be useful.

Can anyone recommend any UK based businesses that do this affordably. I don’t want to have a PO box, but a physical address.
