Did you just get what you needed for your first country? Do you check about immunizations prior to moving to your next destination?

Hi everyone,
I would love to hear what you'd like me to build next on Nomad List, or any other product/feature feedback ideas you have.
It's been 6+ years now but I'm in this for the long term and with the boost remote work got last year it's even more exciting to work on Nomad List than ever.
Current roadmap is here: twitter.com/levelsio/status/1363204985488572417?s=20 and pbs.twimg.com/media/EusS9PKXEAUR8xp?format=jpg&name=4096x4096
The next products/features I have planned:
- ๐ Rebase: visa, residency and immigration services for remote workers
- ๐Courses: learn the steps how to go remote and travel/relocate
- ๐ Gov liaison: diplomacy services to the governments to help us lobby for nomads and for them to attract remote workers
Thanks a lot!
What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.
As part of signing up for this website I was hoping I would come across a list of Visa and/or Residency requirements by country ideally in a table format to assist with decision making. Does anybody recommend any other websites that might present the information in this format (or Google Spreadsheet)?
I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.
Hi guys,
After the Netherlands, the Bay Area, Colorado and being on the van life for 8 months, I am now in Sedona, AZ with a few other digital nomads. We are sharing a home here and are wondering if there are more like minded people in the area.
We do a bunch of hikes and campouts in the northern of Arizona. If you would like to connect with us, please do so :)

Has anyone figured out a way to get setup with a virtual number and internet connection anywhere you go?
Hi everybody. I live and work in Germany and want to go to Canary Islands for 6 months to work from there. I'm going to keep my current job, just change the "home" in the home office part of things. Are there any tax issues I have to be aware of? I was reading about becoming a residence after 183 days, thus having to pay taxes there plus my employer having to register there. Does anybody know how it works exactly? Thanks a lot!
Winter is coming and Iโm feeling the ache of travelling after being stuck in the same place since the Pandemic started. Wondering if anyone is travelling right now? If so, where are you currently located and how is the situation where you are?
I vaguely remember hearing about such a service before, but Iโm drawing a blank on the name. Basically I left my tablet on a connecting flight in Europe, right before my main flight to Thailand. They have my tablet and are willing to ship it out for me, but people have warned me thereโs a big risk of it getting โlost in the mailโ if I ship something expensive like that to Thailand.
Iโm wondering if thereโs a service or community, where I can find a nomad whoโs in Europe/heading to Thailand soon, so I can have it shipped to them in Europe and pay them to ferry it down here for me? I met someone in Budapest a ways back who had built something for this type of use-case, but I canโt remember the name of it. Any help would be appreciated!
Hey everyone!
Iโm getting ready for my first trip abroad alone (this Oct). I decided on Chiang Mai because I feel like it might be the best place to get my feet wet. Plus Iโve been planning on going to Thailand now for about 3 years. Dream started 3 years ago, started my business 2 years ago, finished college/moved out of my parents 1 year ago, left my part-time crutch job a few months ago and now I make enough online to be location independent.
But now that my dream is becoming a reality, Iโm actually kinda scared. Just thinking about boarding a plane with only a backpack in my possession is liberating but also frightening. Probably the craziest thing Iโve done in my life and Iโve worked so hard to get to this point.
Iโm sure that most people here had to deal with the fear of leaving for the first time, the uncertainty of what will happen, and maybe even some resistance from your family. Iโm just wondering how you dealt with it? Maybe I just need to re-read some of the books (4 hour workweek, vagabonding, The $100 startup, etcโฆ) that gave me the motivation and courage to start in the first place. What motivates you to keep going?
Thanks!
Hi guys!
Iโm originally from Ukraine and now traveling through SEA.
And I was thinking about potential possibility to apply for US visa in any of South East Asian countries.
Does anyone has successful experience of getting US visa in SEA region?
Or maybe it is not possible and I have to apply from my home country?
(for example, friend of mine from Ukraine tried to apply for South Korean visa in Bangkok, but they refused to do so and asked him to apply for the visa from Ukraine)
Thanks in advance!
Iโve been looking to travel for a few years now, and Iโm finally at the point where Iโm pretty much ready to get going, hopefully next month.
That said, Iโve not planned ahead well, and it only just occurred to me about vaccinations. Iโve done a bit of research and there are vaccinations available, but Iโm unsure how necessary they are.
I plan to chat to my local nurse/doctor before going, but Iโm also interested to hear whether most people do vaccinate at all before heading out or not?
In terms of specifics, Iโm planning to fly to Japan and then move south, likely hitting up Thailand, Bali, Vietnam etc.
Not expecting any official health advice here, more just personal experience. Any thoughts appreciated
What are the vaccinations I should get traveling from US to Indonesia? I read the CDC suggstions, but Iโm curious on more anecdotal knowledge from experienced travelers to Indonesia.
I really thought this had already been asked on here but couldnโt find anything specific. Apologies if it has been asked before and a link would be greatly appreciated. Iโm a US citizen and if I have a residence permit for one Western European country that states I only have to live in the country for 6 months out of the year can I live in another European country for the other 6 months. I plan on EU country hoping every other 6 months to avoid becoming a resident of more than one country.
Is anyone doing this now?
Hi,
Iโm leaving the USA this year to embark on a nomad lifestyle, I intend to spend less than 30 days in the USA and certainly less than 180 days. If I am over 30-days, is it easy to prove I have a โcloser connectionโ to another country i.e. Form 8840? Retirement visa to another country / property ownership sufficient ? I am British but donโt want to be tax resident for UK or USA in 2017. Thanks
Iโm traveling South Americas for the next couple of months and want to visit friends in EU afterwards, given my Russian passport I have to apply to visa. Is it possible to do outside of my home country?
Iโm looking into visa requirements for Indonesia and Thailand (our first two stops) and itโs looking like Iโll need to show proof of onward air tickets out of both countries to be allowed in. Is that true in practice?
If so, Iโm curious how other nomads manage it โ do you just buy cheap tickets out that youโre OK with not using to satisfy the requirement? Or do you chance it?
