depends partly on the kind of pill youโre on. if youโre on a POP (progesterone-only pill) you have to be uber-careful. you can get pregnant by missing a pill by only 2 hours.
If youโre on the much more common Progesterone+Estrogen pill they are more forgiving. You can miss a day and usually be okay.
If your time zone change is 6 hours or less, I would simply continue taking the pill based on your new time zone. If your time zone is great, especially 12 hours or more, I would take an extra pill at the 12 hour mark and keep going on the new schedule from there.
In any case, any time you have to do weird stuff with your pills by more than, say, 2-3 time zones/hours, you MUST use a backup method such as condoms for the first 14 days afterward.
And yes, an implant or IUD would make your life much easier.
Note: Iโm a Family Practitioner who prescribes birth control frequently.

For now I think sheโll use the 24 hour countdown timer but because of the obvious drawbacks such as waking up in the middle of the night, I think sheโll switch to an implant soon. I canโt help with the timezones, but I had a travel related problem with birth control pills recently which I want to share.
Iโve been taking a certain brand of pills for the last several years, but after a few months in Thailand I ran out of them. I tried every pharmacy but no one sold them. After some googling I found that there are basically two components a birth control pill (at least my type) can differ in, so I chose the one closest to my previous one. You can google the ingredients that are listed on the front of the package and then make sure that the hormone is as close as possible. Thai pharmacists are not very helpful, sadly.
After a month of adjustment, everything was fine, but if you can avoid it, bring enough of your own brand!
I used to just set a countdown on my phone, when travelling, for 24 hours from taking the pill. so the phone would alert me at the expiration of the 24hโฆ
There is another method which I use now which isnโt as complex as IUD. This is a contraceptive implant which is placed under the skin of the arm, it lasts 3 years. Iโve been very very happy with it, no side effects, less hormones than the pillโฆ not sure where you are based but I was given it in the UK where it is commonplace.
An IUD was exactly my thought; I really recommend them. No worries for five to ten years!
I would look into getting an IUD. It will make her life MUCH easier. Otherwise sheโs going to have to do lots of math and transitioning and slipping up could have some very challenging results.
Kinda depends on how many timezones weโre talking aboutโฆ Do you have some plans of where youโre traveling and when?
If youโre staying in one time zone or within a couple for a decent amount of time it can be pretty simple. But if youโre going back and forth from Asia to the US all the time (hypothetical, but that would be about a 12-14 hour time difference), then it gets more complicated.

We're leaving in a month to go travelling. Our first destination is still to be confirmed, but will likely be Poland or Slovakia. We will be moving around every month or two to different destinations.
The question we have is: what do people do with phones/ phone numbers when hopping from country to country? Ideally we'd just like one number for the whole trip (even better, the number we already have) wherever we go, rather than getting new SIMs with different numbers.
This is just so it's easier to keep in contact with family/ clients/ etc.
Any suggestions for seamlessly receiving SMS Verifications from US financial institutions and other sites while traveling internationally continuously? Wonโt keep my US Verizon account due to cost and currently plan to use local sims at each destination (T-Mobile and Project Fi are NOT an option as they terminate for continuous roaming). In summation, I wonโt have a US mobile account.
Unless Iโm missing something, which is very possible, this appears to be the single most complex issue Iโve encountered in my preparations, and one that no one addresses. I would greatly appreciate any possible solution that works 100% of the time. Canโt afford surprises in this regard. Many Thanks! Jack.

Currently in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and heading to Santa Teressa, Costa Rica next week.
Then Aruba in the Caribbean Sea for Christmas and New Year.
However I feel I want to head back to Central America to bring living costs down, rather than staying in the Caribbean Sea among the expensive Islands.
This means I have around 2 - 2,5 month of unplanned travelling.
Any digital nomads who have ideas about where to head in that timeframe?

What is your ergonomic set-up while traveling?
I personally have an external keyboard, and am currently exploring getting a laptop stand, some lumbar support, and a trackball-mouse.
What do you use? How are you balancing health / portability?
Planning ahead for the winter. Iโll be in Spain in the Fall and want to go someplace warm for the winter in or near Europe, but not Schengen. Was first thinking Cape Town, but the internet is slow and it is very far. Was also thinking:
Israel - but airbnb listings are very pricey.
Morocco?
Turkey - maybe a little chilly.
Any other suggestions?

As a wanna be nomad figuring out a way to get free of the rat race, I was wondering what is the best bank account to have while travelling the globe? I need an account where is easy for me to receive payments from all over the world and it also need to be a bank that I can find almost anywhere in the world. I want to avoid carry cash on me if itโs possible.
Iโm currently doing some work through Upwork, but itโs sporadic and Iโm keen to get more active on other platforms like Freelancer, Toptal, CodeMentor, Fiverr etc
Currently Iโm managing leads in a Google sheet. Basically itโs just a list of projects I pitched for, how much I bid, what I did differently from the last pitch/bid, how much time went by before I got a offered a job etc.
Iโm not actively following up anybody, and Iโve in fact โlostโ a few jobs where the client was keen, but then disappeared without a trace. I guess I need to keep in touch with those people to ensure that they remain focussed on our agreementโฆ
Iโm also keen to take on more small projects concurrently, without dropping the ball on any of them.
Iโve done a quick Google and turned up a few names including Salesforce, Zoho, Nutshell, HighRise, Base, Nimble, etc etc. But testing out all these products isnโt all that appealing, so I thought Iโd ask here first 
Ideally Iโd like something that integrates with remote job boards in some way.

I have an commerce website. We get around 1000 orders per month and this is going to get quite a bit bigger in next few years.
I am British. I live in Thailand.
Im not allowed to majority own a Thai business and small foreign entrepreneurs are not really welcome. So i need an offshore company.
I need PayPal and an ecommerce internet merchant account. Also looking at alternatives like worldpay. 2checkout etc
Does PayPal need me to be a resident to the country i register my account to? Are there complications being a non resident to get other payment solutions?
Apparently in Hong Kong you need 2 years trading history to get an Internet Mechant Account and they generally turn their noses up at those with less than $1m(us) a year turn over. Singapore seems a bit easier.
I really want to avoid paperwork and book keeping. I hate it.
So i was looking at Seychelles, Panama, BVI, Belize.
Does anyone have experience with payment providers in these countries?

Iโm a South African about to become a Nomad next year. I will still be employed by a South African company and receive a salary into my FNB bank account monthly.
I will be mostly based in Serbia but plan on travelling a lot. Does anyone have any advice on the best bank account to have? Is there a way to not get charged a small fortune in ATM charges and avoid getting my account frozen for using it in lots of countries?
Iโm unsure of the best way to handle things. Should I try get another bank account outside of SA (Can I even do that)? I also have a British Passport if that makes a difference.

What do you guys use for call and sms forwarding?
Currently I have a Skype US number that forwards to my local phone number. However, it canโt receive SMSโes so thatโs a huge dealbreaker.
Thereโs RingCentral - but that starts at $29/month which is rather pricey.
Any suggestions? Iโd just like to be able to call and text like Iโm still in the US (when Iโm not). Thanks in advance!

I landed a remote job that is fully remote with only one team skype meeting a week. Iโm looking to leave around March 13th and stay 1 - 3 months in each place. The first place I want somewhere that is warm with good surf. For the group video chat I need at least 5/2 down/up reliable internet. Any recommendations for a place that meets that end of March - April?
Iโve read through the forums / nomads list. Iโve already done Costa Rica and Indo and would like to try somewhere new. Currently looking at Sayuliata Mexico, Canary Islands, and Morocco though I think Iโll wait on the second two since they sound like they are better in the fall.

Thailand - Krabi vs. Koh Lanta in March

So Iโm looking to leave my current base in Chiang Mai, Thailand to head back down south in March to escape burning season.
Iโm looking at staying for a month in either Krabi or Koh Lanta. I already spent a month on Koh Samui which was ok but Iโm looking to explore the other side now and it seems this will be a good time of year seasonally to be on those islands.
Here are my main considerations and would love any thoughts:
I donโt necessarily care about being near a co-working space as much of my work on video calls requires me to work from home anyway for privacy.
Anyone stayed on Krabi or Koh Lanta & have any suggestions?
