Hoi An is like the smaller brother of Da Nang. Many local families have home stays to accommodate short to longer term stays. Stayed in a rural part outside of the old town. Felt kind of remote, but grab is cheap to order and with a scooter its fast to get around. Don't expect high speed internet. Most cafes are open and don't have AC though internet can have speeds over 300Mbps. Highly recommend Miss Hoi An in the middle of the rice fields - chill atmosphere to work from. Rent a scooter at An Khoa and maybe do a drive lesson there first. Driving over the rice fields and back roads is really fun!

Nicer spot then da nang but very close to the city still. Nice vibe at cafe hit ha and alle gatto restaurant. Places can try to scam you so watch out at gas stations and mini marts. Don’t be afraid to call out prices that seem strange and walk away. If you make friends with the more permanent locals you bound to have a nice time. Loved an bang area the most for a chill hang late at night 🌳🎉

Cool little town to live in and work from, I was there for 3 weeks in low season. Lots of great restaurants, cafes etc. Nice easy access to the beach, riverside and countryside. Nightlife is quieter, but if you don't care about that, it's great. The Hub coworking there is run by some super friendly people and the new location they are building looks like it should be fantastic..

Such a cute little place. It reminds me of what I thought Vietnam might be. Came for fun and not to work too much. It was quiet in the afternoons and it turns into a festival by the night. Not much to do as someone mentioned. People are very friendly and nice. Lots of food and cheap drinks too. 2-4 days is sufficient here.

I stayed in Hoi An much longer than I planned (10 days) because it was so pleasant. Yes, tourists everywhere. But my hotel was gorgeous and cheap and the wifi was plenty fast for work. When not working I biked out to the beach or through the paddies or into town (too crowded for a bike most times but functional if needed) or just around the countryside. Had some of my friendliest encounters here and as a single woman, always felt safe - night or day.

Completely artificial and touristy city. The only locals you see are there to serve tourists. Gets extremely packed from afternoon to night time. Hoards of Chinese tourists. But tons of great food with many international cuisines, and still cheap to rent. So if all you care about is the comforts of home at a cheap price, maybe you’d like it, but I would never visit here for more than 2-3 days let alone be a nomad here.

I would never go here as a digital nomad. It's a tourist trap. Fun for a few romantic nights, but every closes around 10PM and people try to sell you stuff all the time. The phrase "You want to buy something" is something I remember from Hoi An. Did go there with my girlfriend on a holiday, but I would never go there as nomad. Only Ho Chi Minh/Saigon I would go to.

Loved by solo female travelers for its mellowness and safety. You can bicycle around town, do some work in the cute cafes and coworkings and meet other nomads easily.

Hoi An is awesome! My partner and I are digital nomads and love the life here. It is peaceful, yet has an active, vibrant expat community. It is home to delicious
food, world-class art and great people. The internet speed is 15 mbs and up and home to an awesome co-working space and great cafés. Some of those scores need to be updated! 🙏❤🙏😎
