First off, thanks for the work to create an app like this. Could be very, very useful.
Including the locations one would use for longer stays would be great, applying the same type of categorization you find with restaurants and bars to hospitals, grocery stores, banks, police stations, etc.
For example, where to find a good obgyn, general practice in case you get sick, emergency room (I went to an emergency room recently that was AWFULโฆ Iโd hardly call it an emergency room and itโd be great for me to warn other nomads away from that place). As for grocery stores, charting where you can get hard-to-find products (vegan, organic, Mexican products, American products, Chinese products, etc). I lived for 4 months in a place before finally finding tofu. I tend to burn out on the research end of things and just take what I can get thatโs easy to access, but itโd be great to have the details like this easily accessible through an app.
Also, public transportation customs. For example, in some places they have public cars that function the same as buses, would be great to have a repository of all the local knowledge regarding those details, rather than having to skim 4 forum threads from 1999 to piece together the picture. Where I am currently there arenโt actual stops, you signal to the driver with your hand from anywhere along their route. You have to know the routes too so you can tell them which route you want so you signal โthat-a-wayโ or โthis-a-wayโ. Stuff like that, you know.
Taxi numbers are a great idea. Hotspots for nomads would be cool, and it would be great to know what websites locals use (if any) to find whatโs happening.
Language schools with reviews from students.
Also maybe a place for posting companies that hire international folks (call centers, etc), in case people are looking for jobs too.
Those are a lot of ideas. Take what you like and leave what you donโt! Excited to see the app!
