Patras

Patras is a bit underrated for remote workers. It’s a lively university city by the sea, with a very local feel and a lower cost of living than Athens or the more touristy Greek destinations.

There are plenty of cafes to work from, good food and nightlife, and everything is relatively close. You also have beaches nearby, mountains and nature around you, and easy access to the Peloponnese and the Ionian islands.

The international/remote worker scene is still relatively small, but over the last year a community called Patras Digital Nomads has become active on Instagram (@Patrasdigitalnomads) and Telegram, organising meetups and coworking days. That has made it much easier to meet other remote workers, expats and people new to the city.

It’s not a huge digital nomad hub, and that’s partly what I like about it. You get a more authentic Greek city experience while still having opportunities to meet people and build a community.

Great kitesurf spot close, and also a surf spot close for winter breaks + snowboard ski in 1.5h away on a nice resort
I would say laid back city with nice bars not crazy things to do but if you like outdoors its wonderful.
Plus cheap and can easily find cheap accommodation
