Like so many things in life - it depends. It depends what youโre looking for.
Perth as a city cowers an enormous area due all the new suburbs they keep building. You donโt want to end up in any of those! Some of the older suburbs nearer the CBD (the only place with skyscrapers) are nice in terms of culture, food, and drink. Iโd put Mt Lawley on top of that list.
Nearby is Northbridge, which you probably want to avoid. Unless you come for the bindge-drinking teenagers and pill-heads going clubbing. Theyโve got great cheap Asian food there though!
If youโre in Australia you probably want the beach. And luckily Perth has some of the better beaches. But the beach is a good 20 minute drive from the city. The nicest ones near the city are Cottesloe, City Beach, and Floreat. At Cotteslough you might be able to find some accommodation, but it depends what time of the year you are going. Itโs probably pretty dead in winter there.
About Perth: Itโs huge and people drive everywhere. There are buses, but they arenโt worth much. The metro/train is great though, if you are lucky enough to need to go somewhere along itโs north-south line. Cottesloe being one of those places.
And finally - Fremantle, the best of all of the above. A port-town swallowed by Perthโs expanding, but has kept itโs own vibe. More of a hippie vibe if you look in the right places, plus good beaches, nature reserves, old houses, the river, bars and restaurants.

What are the best places right now in the Caribbean/LatAM? (Also cheapest flights/accommodation?) Asking from the US.

I am finding it very difficult to find properties in AirBnB within a reasonable budget and makaan and magicbricks is cumbersome.
Anyone has had any experience on best approach to find where to stay?

I recently purchased a second monitor to connect to my MacBook Pro 15". I use the Nextstand laptop stand to get my MacBook to eye level. Iโm wondering what second monitor (without base) users are using to get their second monitor at the same level. I know of this company Elevate Stand (.com), but it seems a bit heavy and bulky (although I guess it must be somewhat, if it is to hold a monitor).
Iโm in the middle of doing some research for our next destination within Europe and Iโm hoping to get some suggestions from some outdoor enthusiasts whoโve spent time on the continent.
My favorite cities are Innsbruck, Austria and Bergen, Norway because you can be downtown having a beer one minute and thenโฆ boomโฆ up the mountain in the middle of nowhere 15 minutes later. Iโm looking for a similar place to spend a month or two this winter. Places like these are hard to find because โmid-size european cities with great hiking nearbyโ doesnโt return too many relevant results on Google. Great adventure towns are usually in the middle of nowhere, the kind of places youโll need to rent a car to get to the grocery store, and places with good public transportation are usually concrete jungles. But places like Innsbruck and Bergen manage to combine the best of both worlds.
Has anyone come across similar places theyโd recommend?
Has anybody ever encountered a travel gear manufacturer that makes gear that is solid and durable, but that is intentionally designed to look old and crappy? For international travel, I want good, durable gear, but Iโm uncomfortable walking around with slick, brand-new-looking, expensive-looking gear (especially with my family in tow). Iโm happy to snatch up any good used gear (reduce, reuse, recycle) that weโre lucky enough to encounter, but selection is limited, and durability is often compromised. Seems like thereโd be a decent market for some durable but ragged-looking travel gear. What i have in mind is luggage, backpacks, laptop cases, smartphone cases, camera bags, infant/toddler carriers, etc. Iโm sensitive to the preppy fad of clueless, well-off westerners dressing up like the poor in naive but trendy mockery, but thatโs not what Iโm after, here. I just want good gear that doesnโt put a target on my back as we traipse around various parts of the world. Anybody have any thoughts on thisโฆ?

Iโm looking at heading to Cape Town in February/March. I am looking for a long term accomodation for about three months. I checked out GumTree and StayinCapeTown, but I was wondering if you had any more reccomendations on where to look! Airbnb is quite expensive and sparse.

Iโm planning on 6 weeks in Chiang Mai soon and most of the stuff Iโve read about finding a place there says the best thing to do is to look in person. Considering the short time Iโm there, I would prefer to prebook to say a couple of days of apartment hunting.
I was wondering about the options for short(ish) term accommodation and if pre-booking is worthwhile or if Iโll just get fobbed off with the worst room/apartment available.
Iโm just looking for something basic - so long as it has air conditioning. Having a work space would be a definite advantage as would closeness to coffee. Other than that, things like a pool, gym, kitchen arenโt that important to me.

Anywhere on the planet is of interest from Bulgaria to New Zealand, from Harbin to Matroosbergโฆ i donโt really care where on the planet it is, just that itโs not to hard to get to/from.
My girlfriend and I are Canadian residents that make a full-time income online, though affiliate commissions and ad revenue. As of right now, we have bank accounts in the US and most income is earned in USD.
The thing is that our income taxes are quickly rising to the point that itโs absurd and would be well worth the time and money spent to reduce them somehow.
Can anyone comment on our options here?
Weโve considered moving around and not staying in any one country long enough to owe taxes anywhere, but that seems very difficult as a Canadian resident:
Reading up on the stipulations for being a โresident for tax purposesโ in Canada, they basically want you to sell all of your belongings and cut ties with your family in order to not be a taxed resident. Is this true?
Another option weโre interested in is incorporating in an offshore country that has low or zero corporation taxes. Does anyone have any suggestions here?
Iโve been looking into setting up a Canadian corporation, but the corporation tax is still upwards of 15%, plus youโre taxed on what you take out of the corporation.
If anyone here has knowledge about any of this Iโd love to hear your advice.

Me and my girlfriend are planning on staying 1-3 months in Santa Teresa, starting in May. Does anybody know how much we can expect to pay in rent, and if there are any good places online to look for apartments? Or is it better to look for a place once weโre there? So far weโve mostly found more upscale options online but we just need a place that is safe, clean and that has a kitchen. A small studio would be fine.

Iโm going to be traveling through and working in many countries in Europe this year and Iโm hoping to either use my T-Mobile iPhone 6 (should work based on my research) or I can buy a hotspot to tether internet. This way I can work anywhere and not have to be asking for wifi passwords etc all the time. Does anyone know a good carrier/plan/hotspot? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Iโm ideally looking for a nomad house-style type of setup, in which 4 or more digital nomads all live together in a nice, modern villa. But Iโm not sure if there are too many of those around in Canggu.
Otherwise a private room+bathroom or private apt. for around $600-800 will be fine (depending on the speed of the Internet).

Hi, Iโm going to Alanya, Turkey this October/November (then moving to Goa). My plan for Goa is the following: I rent something via Booking/AirBnB for just 2-3 days so that we could be rested from the road. During these days Iโm going to shop around for longer and less expensive accommodation. In India, they say, the best way is to do it โofflineโ: just go to streets and look for โRooms to letโ signs. Itโs Ok, I believe, in rural area with 1-2 story houses, but how would one โshop offlineโ in a modern town like Alanya? I mean, you wonโt go into a multi-storey apartment buildings and knock at the doors, will you? Any advices?
Maybe, there are some boards that locals use to rent flats? I donโt like prices on AirBnB, to be honestโฆ Especially with current Rub-to-Euro conversion rate 
Besides, our primary goal on this trip is to try living โlike a nativeโ; not interested in touristic attractions.
