Queretaro is a very safe and affordable city with a strong middle class, making it one of the most livable places in Latin America. The internet is fast, and the city is extremely clean and well-maintained. Its colonial downtown is beautiful and highly walkable, and there are plenty of coworking spaces. The locals are friendly, though knowing some Spanish is important. The overall vibe is quieter with limited nightlife, which may be a downside for some.
The weather is consistently warm and pleasant, making outdoor activities in nearby areas like the Sierra Gorda enjoyable. Living outside the central area may require a car, but Ubers are very cheap. While Queretaro is not a major party city, Mexico City is just a short drive away for those looking for more excitement. The airport offers convenient direct flights to multiple U.S. cities and domestic beach destinations.
One downside is that the local food scene in this region of Mexico is not particularly remarkable. Some find the city to have a suburban feel with less of the vibrant Mexican culture present in other parts of the country. However, if safety, affordability, and comfort are top priorities, Queretaro is an excellent choice for long-term stays.

Stayed here for about a month. Queretaro is a great foodie place, and you'll enjoy the old colonial city and a view of the aqueduct. The weather is favorable, safety is high, middle class majority and also very walkable. But aside from that, it can get really boring like a mexican suburbia. It is like a watered-down version of mexican culture.

Queretaro is a fantastic cheap and liveable city. Need some spanish here but the wifi is fast and I'm catching up on my budget from traveling around very quickly.
Staying with friends in more of a neighborhood but the downtown is charming, super clean and walkable. Also, a great place to stock up necessities, I can get all of my "brands" here at a regular price. Enjoying indulging in some home luxuries in this city. No party life here really, super safe, heavy large suburb vibes.

Queretaro is a great under the radar city. For those that want a quieter lifestyle with superb weather year round and a US friendly time zone, this place is hard to beat for the price. One of the largest middle classes in Latin America allows it to have a very high quality of life. Some of the biggest pros are, low crime (lowest I've experienced in Latin America and safer than my hometown in the US), cleanest city in Latin America that I have ever been to, incredibly well preserved colonial downtown yet the city as a whole feels first world and modern, more than enough coworking spaces, wine country just a half hour away with some high quality CHEAP wine, outdoor activities galore with the Sierra Gorda near by, and Mexico City is a short 2.5 hour drive for weekend getaways when you're missing the chaos of a large city. Some cons are that unless you live in the central area of town a car would likely be needed (Ubers are very cheap though), night life is lacking, and this particular region of Mexico is known for having very unremarkable food. The locals are very warm and inviting. I've met quite a lot of expats but few digital nomads, most friends made have been locals. The airport is newly remodeled and has daily direct flights to multiple US cities, and very cheap flights to beach destinations including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Merida, Huatulco, and Ixtapa.

Queretaro is great. Much dryer than I expected. Very safe (I disagree with the score). Need some Spanish here. Internet at my apartment is blazing fast 200mps. Beautiful, colonial downtown. Extremely walkable. Anything you need here. Not really a great party life...
