Hi,
I'm planning to spend time in Oaxaca and San Cristobal de las casas.
I'm not sure if the working conditions (internet quality, coworking spaces) are suitable in San Cristobal?
Anyone has been working from there for some weeks?
Ive stayed in co404 and it was great to work from there
artiflex 3mo
Thanks!
artiflex 3mo
By any chance, do you know if it is possible to use their coworking without living there ?
On their website, I only see prices for both co-living and co-coworking, not for only co-working.
no way
hola!! ยฟalguien de acรก esta en la paz?

Last two times i was in GDL i worked out of HackerGarage. Itโ€™s not a Cowork per se but people use it for that and itโ€™s got a tight knit community

Hi guys!! as nomads in Mexico, im curious what are the pains you suffer here?
gigabee 3mo
1. Struggling to find electric tooth brush heads ๐Ÿ™ˆ
2. Online payments within Mexico when not using a mexican bank account can sometimes be troublesome
ivanhoe 3mo
Thanks bee interesting
gigabee 3mo
No worries. Ive found mexico one of the easiest countries to live in. Much easier than Spain where they over complicate every process
ivanhoe 3mo
Im a software engineer with a lot of time
ivanhoe 3mo
So i wanna listen pains to live in Mexico for people who lives here right now
dnmuggle 3mo
Found my electric toothbrush heads at Walmart

Right now my eczemaโ€™s flaring up really bad in Q.Roo.

Iโ€™m also struggling to find good places to live that are social but not a mass appeal hostel like Che/Viajero/Selina.
You can't purchase Nyquil in Mexico. Air quality in CDMX is bad in the Winter. Hard to find a gym that has a sauna (or a properly working sauna). Was this weird and random enough? BTW, I am a software engineer as well.
rcsligar 3mo
Over the top gentrification in Mexico City and other places. Gringos trying to make their own version of their home state in Mexico.

Best experiences I had there were off the tourist trail
ivanhoe 3mo
What kind of payments?
gigabee 3mo
When trying to buy from various different retailers online, most connect via mercardo libre for card payments, sometimes it works for international bank cards. Sometimes it does not. Its very hit and miss
ivanhoe 2mo
Yes, that's something is happening right now, and yeah, everyone is welcome respecting the culture

Hi! Nice to meet yโ€™all. US based Founder/Product designer heading to Mexico City for a month tomorrow. Any recommendations for learning Spanish? Open to 1:1, classes etc.

Anyone heading out in Playa del Carmen tonight? Me and another Aussie are going out.
minonomad 2mo
Learned Spanish and Portuguese with the app called Tandem.
minonomad 2mo
Check it out. You can connect with locals where ever you go to exchange language and help each other to learn. Iโ€™ve done it successfully multiple times and made good friends at the same time..
minonomad 2mo
I recommend you to switch to listening only Spanish music, watching TV shows in Spanish (with English subtitles for the start) then use tandem. Just throw yourself into the language as much as you can. At the beginning you wonโ€™t understand anything but if you have patience and push through youโ€™ll start picking up a lot quite fast. Then you can still do a traditional language course / classes on the side or just use AI as a teacher ๐Ÿค–

Most importantly never be afraid to speak and make mistakes. Thatโ€™s how you learn the fastest ;) good luck!

Iโ€™m right now learning my 5th language

Thanks for all the tips! Appreciate it.

Is it true that US companies give preference to remote developers who are based in Mexico, especially for LATAM-only roles?

Prob Mexico City. Gastronomical I would say Oaxaca de Juarez, but not too many malls to see there. Additionally, you should check with your host that you have proper internet.

regiani 2mo
"Tulum" "Cancun"
I know nothing about Mexican beaches

would appreciate if someone can recommend me one I can fly from Mexico City, can be a resort as long it's not so overrated / crazy expensive
beto 2mo
Guadalajara if you donโ€™t want the chaos of Mexico City, thereโ€™s a wework in Plaza Andares and Plaza Midtown, you can do your work and head out to some cool restaurants and 10 min away there are cool coffee shops and bars to hang out

"If you hold a valid U.S. visa (including B1/B2) that is multiple-entry and valid at time of travel, you do not need to apply for a Mexican visa or ETA."

Anyone can confirm? no ETA needed??

Any recommendations for things to do in Guanajuato? I arrive tomorrow.
Does anyone know of a coworking space that also provides screens? IE not just a desk/chair but a big screen that I can connect to and work more comfortably?

Hi everyone!

I am planning to be in Mexico City in March.

I am wondering if you have any suggestions of places to go to try local foods and other general must-see and do things in CDMX.

I am also keen to learn more about places to eat good food at affordable prices for the day-to-day and what places would be nice to see to the nightlife can be bars, clubs or any other suggestions!

Thanks!
Luis...
Visit "Huerto Roma Verde" on a Saturday or Sunday during the day (usually from 11am onwards). They allegedly close at 8pm, but I think they often have concerts that keep the place open much later. It is a combination of wild mercado, and fun foods. And since it is in Roma, it is super easy to reach (most random CDMX visitors head towards Condessa or Roma).

Thanks dcsnliccedhq , noted! I am planning to be around that area. If anyone else has other tips, let me know!

Hi everyone, I'm in Guatemala now and I was thinking of Mexico for the next destination but apparently it's not that safe these days because the mafia killings. Is that the case? How's the situation there now?

Mexico is fine. The excitement is over. Don't let the media psyop you into thinking bad things or crime doesn't happen in every country.
Iโ€™m in Mexico, Isla Mujeres, Itโ€™s all good here
Hey - all! Caribbean born adventure seeker/ online business owner ehre looking to move out to Mexico City in a few months - Any advice on finding affordable places to stay? - i have some AirBnbs saved but I want to get a sense of the off market deals too
lolahht 1d
Hey, depends on what youโ€™re looking for and most importantly where. CDMX has become quite expensive if you want to stay around Condesa/Roma/Polanco and there isnโ€™t really a way around that
I know some of my friends just shot their shot at Airbnb listings by asking if theyโ€™d be interested in renting long term outside of the platform to avoid fees (and sometimes taxes)
What locals do also is share apartments, you can look into that as well if youโ€™re open to the idea โ€ฆ
Thanks for the tips Lola! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
Just arrived in Oaxaca. Will be here for a month. Down for any cool interesting meetups and such
