I like PDC. Very walkable. All of Centro typically around 30 min point to point. I don't find myself getting bored, but a lot of that is the dn community here is robust and there's always events and people to do things with.

Hello! I am going to Mexico for 3 months starting December, it will be my first time. I have 2 questions for ppl who know the country well:

Firstly, which locations offer good kitesurfing this period?

Secondly, how would you divide these 3 months across different locations that kept their authenticity somewhat, knowing that I am a beach person, a slow traveler, into yoga/calisthenics, and a digital nomad. Usually Bali has been my home for the past 3 winters but I decided to try Mexico this time.

YES! But not for all items. I added a friend's name y address to my USA Amazon account, and had an air filter sent to his dpto in CDMX. ( I have asthma so ran it in my hotel room for 2 weeks)

Holbox has a big problem with power too, it's unstable, some time during the day it goes off

I would recommend Isla Mujeres, more infrastructure in this aspect, and the beaches are also chilling

I do not recommend hotel Oxford in CDMX, because there are many aggressive hookers around who will bother you day and night. It is one of the only cheap hotels in the center, I suppose it’s like that for a reason

CDMX in centro is not very safe at night. Look at san Rafael or Santa Maria La Ribera for stays if you want to get to centro easily. Those neighborhoods are safe and less touristy than Roma Norte and Condesa. Also food and accommodation are cheaper.

BTW, since it's on my mind, is there a good guide for how to find hostels / hotels every time you move? I was going to start using my new CapitalOne card portal. But I noticed I overpaid by 20%+ on my first booking compared to another card's Expedia Portal! If anyone has a strategy or knows a blog that covers this, etc. chime in...

Finally, my warning to others around theft in Cancun hotels, and possibly beyond. Fuck! I had something happen, I will post in detail later...
But I decided to search the subject and dear God I wish someone had warned me. Like, it's rampant. Insane number of tripadvisor incidents. People having cash taken _from_ their safes, in even high end Cancun hotels. It's extremely common. Be warned!

A friend of ours got detained at the board check (Cancun) due to “inconsistent” answers. They will be sent back.

So make sure to have your return tickets at hand and possibly whole your itinerary (even if it is not certain) if you ever fly here. Apparently they are very strict.

Currently in Merida and need to have some documents shipped from Australia to here via DHL over the coming weeks.

I'll be volunteering on someone's property early Jan for a month or so.

Does anyone know of a service/business here that I can have my documents shipped to and collect them on the way back through?

I think you're better off either checking with local DHL branch if exists, or send it to a very reputable hotel and pay them seperately, Haven't tried either. maybe you could find some expat living in Merida that could do you a favor? meet in person to encourage his trust before the delivery ofc

For anyone traveling with a drone though be aware that if they find it at the customs control you have to pay import tax. 19% over price. So better don’t declare it.
