Lublin is a budget-friendly and walkable city with a lively student population, making it an attractive option for younger visitors or those looking for an affordable stay. The historical city center has charm and is worth visiting, though it's more modest compared to other Polish cities like Kraków. There's a decent local dating scene, especially for digital nomads or newcomers seeking connections in a less saturated environment than major cities like Warsaw.

However, beyond the central area, the city can feel underdeveloped, with fewer amenities and infrastructure. One example is the limited coverage of electric scooter services, which only extend 2–3 km from the center, making it harder to reach interesting spots slightly further out. Some visitors found that while enjoyable short-term, the city might become monotonous over time, especially after a year or more.
