Hi there, I just moved to Spain and was wondering if anyone has a good advice regarding which local SIM card (data+talk/text) to get in Spain?
Thanks mucho!

Hi! I want to relocate to Spain and I was wondering if someone can recommend a SIM card with a good data package.
Thanks
Hi, Iโve seen that Nomad List offers different options that could work for connecting with other nomads that are in the same place as me (forum, Slack, user maps, matches and maybe even more options I havenโt seen), but Iโm not sure what is the best/recommended way to use all these options.
Should I use all of them? Start with a message in the forum and/or Slack?
Sending private messages to a lot of people feels a little bit โaggressiveโ. And matches are not based on current location if I understood it correctly.
By the way, I just arrived at Budapest
Hi there!
Iโm looking for international sim card services. I looked for other posts, and I know there are other alternatives, but Iโm interested to have an international sim-card with only data plan, just to be used while I get a local one.
Alternatives:
ยฟAny experience using any of these services?
thnx!
Over the next few weeks Iโm visiting:
I am British and was assuming I would use my giff gaff sim as that has free EU roaming.
But I have been in Mexico for six weeks and giff gaff emailed and said if I didnโt use my sim in the UK soon they would start charging their normal expensive roaming rates.
Soโฆ Can anyone recommend a pre-pay data only sim/package I can use in all of these countries? Ideally which I can pick up in Prague?
I live in Budapest but have started traveling around a lot through Central/Eastern Europe as a nomad, but I need a local SIM to work-does anyone have any suggestions/advice for the best SIM for Romania? Preferably with lots of data and the option to tether?

Hey all,

I am soon to find out one way or another as I will leave my residency to become a nomad myself. I have not found a good solution for Bali or Asian countries on the internet.
I read our existing Nomadlist posts under Money tag. Money handling and charges around accessing it seem to be a big issue for nomads, soon my issue. As a post I read said, accessing money for a Nomad can be harder than making money. I am more worried about accessing money than having some.
Iโll use Transferwise Borderless account to keep my day to day living money. I am opening a Pte Ltd corporate, that only goes for business-related expenses.
My Canadian credit card will charge me an arm and a leg in fees and currency conversion for me to get Indonesian Rupiah in Bali from Canadian dollar account. Then at some point, my credit card will complain I am not in Canad anymore.
Not knowing better, Iโll try that. If that works good and still live me short on how to go for smaller and random daily expenses.
Thanks for your help!
Enjoy your Nomad living!!
Hi everyone. Iโve just moved to Granada in Andalucia to live with some friends I met in Mexico. Planning on staying a few months and then seeing where the wind takes me, but in the meantime, I wanted to know if there are any fellow nomads around, or if anyone has any tips for coworking spaces/cafes? Thanks in advance!
I am thinking about living in Spain a few months but do not know much about it. Any advice would be appreciated.
I heard from an American friend that he has several cards similar to the APEC Business Travel Card (link to Wikipedia ) that allow him to get priority treatment at immigration line in certain countries.
I was very intrigued and quickly checked up on the card, but it seems to be only available to citizens of APEC-member nations.
I was wondering if anyone here uses such cards, what your experiences with them are (specifically, Iโm interested in cards available for Europeans/Germans).
Iโm looking for somewhere to spend July in northern Spain. (Not that it matters but June weโre in Paris, August in Porto).
Iโve spent time in small Italian villages and loved the experience. Iโm hoping to find something like that but in coastal Spain, I just donโt know the area at all yet. Suggestions?
Somewhere roughly in or between Galicia and Bilbao. Somewhere walkable to a half dozen small resturants/cafes/etcโฆ
Where can I find locally sourced, organic (or at least non-GMO) and also be able to work with strong internet?
I did a search but didnโt find much info. We love Bali and the food here is amazing, we are just looking to try somewhere else out (preferably somewhere in Europe) after a long time in Asia. We also loved the Northern Rivers area in Australia and want to find similar food offerings and compare our options!
Iโm planning a visit to Chiang Mai and Bali starting in April. I have a Google Nexus which has worked flawlessly in Mexico at least. Assuming it will work just as well in CM and Bali? If I decide not to work in a coworking space, but rather Airbnb w/wifi and/or Coffee shops wifi, would a dedicated 4g sim card device be worth spening $75 USD to purchase, plus local sim, plus potential SIM hassle, or just rely on Nexus hotspot + airbnb and coffee shop Wifi?
I just arrived to Medellin and did not anticipate that no one would speak any english at all. (Iโm used to Asia where everyone knows the basics)
I need a SIM card, I found a place at the mall where they sell them, but itโs not a simple transaction and I donโt speak Spanish.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Hi all
Looking to spend a couple of weeks in Jamaica and the Bahamas - Can anyone recommend the best value data sims for either or both countries. Not bothered about calls as will be using Skype.
Thanks - Jon
Hello everyone,
I spent quite a few months in Asia last year, especially China. I am a foodie so I always want to try small local restaurants. Unfortunately the language barrier made it difficult/impossible quite often, especially when asking for ingredients (I am good with body language and gestures but not everyone and every culture engage).
So, I was wondering: how to do communicate in restaurants when no one speaks English?
Thanks!
Hey everyone,
Iโm planning on moving to Spain and Iโd like to connect with those who have tried to apply for this special type of long-term visa called as โnon-lucrative residence visaโ.
Going from what Iโve researched so far, itโs a good option for us nomads (more so: business owners) to stay longer in Spain (one only needs to prove steady stream of income of at least EUR 2.2K per month and that you should NOT work for Spain โ so letโs say having a U.S. company and staying in Spain is fine).
So : my concerns right now revolve mainly on anyoneโs experiences with applying for this type of visa. How difficult was it? How long did it take you?
Also, Iโm wondering about how I can secure a rental space for a year if my lease depends on the approval from the embassy. Iโm also wondering if Valencia is a good place to stay in?
Iโm planning to move to Spain this year, but Spain has a wealth tax for worldwide assets over 700.000โฌ if you are classified as a resident which I want to avoid.
Iโll try to be a short as possible:
Although I am renting the UK flat until December 2016 I prefer not to be in UK, which would mean that I would not be classified as a UK-resident because I would not meet any of the automatic UK or sufficient tie tests.
Iโd like to move to Spain as soon as possible but would be willing to stay out of it for x weeks to avoid being classified as a resident and save wealth tax.
Can anyone help me in this matter? whats my best line?
When setting up international calls I typically google โ[city] timeโ, or I google โEST timeโ or โPST timeโ. But depending on which website gives the answer it can take into account local hour (winter/summer) or NOT!
Any universal app/solution you people use to solve this confusion?
