Cluj is a mid-sized city with a mix of chill and lively vibes. It has a young atmosphere, with great bars, cafés, and restaurants that make it enjoyable for a short stay. The locals are friendly and welcoming, particularly towards foreigners. Architecture is decent, and the city feels well-regarded within Romania. However, the nomad community is small, making it harder to meet like-minded people.
The city shines for a few months but can feel uninspiring in the long run, with limited new things to explore beyond the initial experience. Some find it a bit boring after an extended period. Traffic congestion is an issue, especially considering its size, and air quality is worse than in some other Romanian cities. While Cluj does have coworking spaces, opinions vary on their value for digital nomads.
Overall, Cluj is a good place for those looking to experience Romania in a friendly, restaurant-filled city with some charm. However, nomads looking for a buzzing digital community and long-term excitement might find it lacking.

Super chill city with nice architecture and fantastic cafes. Seems a little unexplored, and would be a great small hub if there was a nomad community here.

Terrible air quality, much worse than smaller cities in Romania (nearby Sibiu is much better). Also not that pretty and getting more expensive each year. Cluj only started to build proper public transportation 3 years ago which explains it, but overall I am quite underwhelmed I must say. I would not spend much time here.

I found Cluj to be a nice but fairly boring place to stay. There are a few coworkings that you can check out, but I would personally recommend Silicon Forest over ClujHub for a more personal experience.

It is an OK place for staying for a few months, however after a few months, you have seen everything and realize the place is just a small town with a few things to do but not that many. Restaurants are great and stuff but besides that not much going on.

Everybody was speaking so positive about Cluj so I tried it for 2 months there. In the end it was rather disappointing, the vibe of the city is somewhat uninspiring, even a bit depressing the longer you stay. The old town is cute with bars and restaurants, but after a few days there's nothing new to discover. Very ugly that there's to much car traffic for such a small city, there are literally cars everywhere. It might be a good choice for couples enjoying to live a traditional life, but for nomads or single guys there's not much to do there.

I've been a superhost for a digital nomad-friendly in Cluj for the last 2 years and I've seen a good number of nomads come and go. This city is more on the chill side as far as cities go but it is very lively. Cluj is regarded very highly from people in Romania and the vibe in the city is very nice. People are more conservative than average but they are extremely nice to foreigners.

Loved this city, mid-size, great food and coffee, decent architecture, and the friendliest and most welcoming people for hundreds of miles. ClujHub was a fantastic way to make friends with locals and other nomads. Only left to do COVID-19 situation

It's the kind of city where I'd stay and build a life if I wasn't a nomad. There are many nice bars and bistros and cafés, people is very nice and the city has a young vibe. I'd love to go back someday.

Pretty city but hard to meet nomads.
Cluj Hub has good internet, air conditioning and a killer view from the balcony. Pricey by the day though.
