Mostar is a cozy and affordable place, great for short stays and working remotely on a budget. The town is surrounded by nature and ideal for sightseeing, with easy access to outdoor activities such as walking tours and visiting nearby destinations. The scenic train ride from Sarajevo adds to the appeal, though the local airport is not a reliable option. Accommodations are well-priced and food is diverse, with plenty of options, especially if you enjoy red meat or simple local dishes.
WiFi can be unreliable, so it may not be suitable for heavy remote work needs. Public services such as busses, cabs, and customer service in restaurants can seem unhelpful, but this is often just a regional style rather than personal. Summers can be extremely hot, making the town less comfortable during that season, although the seaside is only a short drive away. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit due to milder weather and fewer crowds.
Overall, Mostar offers a unique experience in a beautiful, relaxed setting. It's not packed with attractions but makes a good base to explore the region. A stay of five to seven days is usually sufficient to see the highlights and enjoy the atmosphere.

Mostar is a cozy place near the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is possible to go there by train and the view during traveling Sarajevo-Mostar is spectacular. Mostar has a small airport but is not functioning most of the time.
Hotels, hostels, and apartments are affordable and look good.
Food offers a lot of red meat, but it's possible to do a good combination of cheese, bread, salads, and seafood.
WiFi is not the best.
There are a few points in the town that should be seen but mostly Mostar is a service town with nightlife, restaurants, and coffee places. It's quite lovely all of it, but besides it, the town doesn't offer a lot.
However, this part of Bosnia is beautiful and it is possible to see the different places around by staying in Mostar. It's a small region and in slow motion, five to seven days is more than enough. I have been several times and springs and autumns are the best, while winters are quite cold even without snow. Summers are unbearable, but it's possible to be on the sea cost in 45 minutes by car.
Services in the restaurants and general communication (busses, cabs, hosts, hospitals, stores) are not satisfactory, but traveling around I figured out they just behave that way, it shouldn't be taken personally.
If you are an outdoor person, there are mountains, rivers, and walking tours you shouldn't miss.
