Paphos offers a relaxed, quiet lifestyle best suited for families or those seeking a slower pace. The area stands out for its sunny climate, especially during the spring when it's green and ideal for hiking. Outdoor activities like exploring Akamas or visiting local sights such as Adonis Baths are popular among residents. Compared to other cities in Cyprus like Larnaka or Limassol, Paphos has a more residential feel and less urban density, which adds to its calm atmosphere. Additionally, some people are attracted by the lower tax benefits available on the island.
However, the downsides are worth noting. Summers can be uncomfortably hot, and the town tends to appeal more to retirees, which means fewer options for younger people looking for social interaction or nightlife. The dining scene lacks variety, and internet connectivity has been reported as subpar in some areas. Some also feel the area is overrated considering its cost and perceived lack of aesthetics. Overall, Paphos works well for some, especially those looking for sun and peace, but others may find it dull and overpriced.

We really didn't enjoy being there. been there for 3 months, not such a good net and really boring.
It's also really hot in the summer, restaurants are more of the same, most people there are 70+ years old and not many young people.

Moved here 1.5 years ago, mainly for the lower taxes and sunny island. There's cheap apartments available, but also more expensive high-quality luxurious ones. The old town has some nice bars. There's a lot of beautiful hikes to do, and fun activities like renting a quad and driving through Akamas or to Adonis Baths. Compared to Larnaka, Limassol and Nicosia, Paphos is less dense, more quiet and more of a family town.
Cyprus changes quite a bit over the course of a year. It can be super green from February to April, and then the island dries up over the summer months where it barely rains. February - April are the perfect hiking months.

Quite expensive for such an ugly place. Weather in the winter is not that great...I'd go to Antalya/Kas or even Albanian coast if you need to be outside Schengen Zone in the winter and want something with a mild temp.

Cyprus is the best place to optimize you taxes as digital nomads. Many high-income remote entrepreneurs also spend 2 months a year in Paphos or Larnaca, and live a better life than in their home countries. My recommendation is to check this out, so many information on Google or Youtube ;)
