Cyprus offers some concrete advantages, particularly for those seeking lower taxes and a quieter, slower-paced lifestyle. Paphos, in particular, attracts people looking for a family-friendly environment and less density than other cities like Larnaka or Nicosia. There are quality housing options ranging from budget-friendly to luxurious. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the good hiking from February to April, particularly in scenic spots like Akamas and Adonis Baths. Activities like quad rentals add some variety for short-term visitors too.
On the downside, reviewers frequently mentioned the high cost, especially when compared with what’s offered. Internet quality can be problematic, and summer weather is intensely hot, making outdoor life less enjoyable during those months. The social scene may feel limited for younger or more active visitors, with many describing the area as boring and skewing toward a much older demographic. Dining options are repetitive, and the city lacks a vibrant energy. Overall, it's well-suited to retirees or remote workers seeking a calm location with tax benefits, but not ideal for those looking for lively culture or consistent digital infrastructure.

We really didn't enjoy being there. been there for 3 months, not such a good net and really boring.
It's also really hot in the summer, restaurants are more of the same, most people there are 70+ years old and not many young people.

Moved here 1.5 years ago, mainly for the lower taxes and sunny island. There's cheap apartments available, but also more expensive high-quality luxurious ones. The old town has some nice bars. There's a lot of beautiful hikes to do, and fun activities like renting a quad and driving through Akamas or to Adonis Baths. Compared to Larnaka, Limassol and Nicosia, Paphos is less dense, more quiet and more of a family town.
Cyprus changes quite a bit over the course of a year. It can be super green from February to April, and then the island dries up over the summer months where it barely rains. February - April are the perfect hiking months.

Quite expensive for such an ugly place. Weather in the winter is not that great...I'd go to Antalya/Kas or even Albanian coast if you need to be outside Schengen Zone in the winter and want something with a mild temp.

Cyprus is the best place to optimize you taxes as digital nomads. Many high-income remote entrepreneurs also spend 2 months a year in Paphos or Larnaca, and live a better life than in their home countries. My recommendation is to check this out, so many information on Google or Youtube ;)
