Delicious food, which is also cheap. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Activities are various: bazar visit, trip to nearby mountains, “chayxana” - traditional Uzbek tea house/restaurant, clubbing, horse riding. Beautiful subway which resembles the one in Moscow. Groceries are of high quality. Most people speak Russian, and are nice to foreigners. Almost no crime. It’s difficult to drive around, because of local driving culture. Thus, it’s better to move around on taxi which is cheap. City is somewhat multinational with majority being Uzbek. Society is religious, yet the state is secular. “Foreigner-looking” people aren’t condemned for their outfit. All four seasons are present, yet the amount of sunny days in a year is very high.
