Tashkent offers a great mix of affordability, safety, and activities for visitors and residents. The food is not only tasty but also inexpensive, with a wide range of cafes, restaurants, and traditional tea houses available. There’s a diverse range of things to do, from visiting bazaars and clubbing to hiking in nearby mountains or horse riding. The subway system is notable for its attractive design, and groceries are of high quality. People are friendly, especially toward foreigners, and most speak Russian, making communication easier for Russian speakers.

The city is quite safe, with reports of low crime. Internet connectivity is stable and relatively fast, especially with fiber-optic connections reaching speeds of up to 200 Mbps at night. The city enjoys all four seasons, but with many sunny days throughout the year, which is a plus.

However, the local driving culture makes getting around by car challenging. Fortunately, taxis are affordable and commonly used. Tashkent is multicultural, religious yet secular, and inclusive when it comes to foreigners' appearances. All in all, it’s a practical and enjoyable city for both short visits and longer stays.
