Casablanca is not your typical digital nomad destination. It lacks the hipster cafés, expat-friendly infrastructure, and curated tourist experiences you may find in more popular cities. However, this is exactly why some people may find it appealing—it offers a more raw, local experience without the crowds of foreigners.
Living costs are very low, making it easy to find good food and accommodation on a budget. The food scene is a highlight, with many locals praising its variety and flavor. Another strong point is how welcoming and warm the people are, which helps make up for some of the city’s shortcomings.
On the downside, Casablanca struggles with cleanliness and traffic. The city can feel chaotic and unsafe at times, so it's important to stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Noise and congestion from traffic are also persistent issues. While it may not be visually appealing or particularly comfortable, it offers an authentic and affordable experience for those who want to live somewhere off the beaten path.

Been living here for about 3 weeks now and I really love it. Very affordable, amazing food, and the people are so friendly. Hidden gem!

There are no digital nomad, hipster or tourist in Casablanca as the city is ugly, dirty and unsafe with heavy traffic. This is why I choose this place.

Completely agree with the other review, the Hassan II mosque is incredible and there are some nice places to eat but other than that I would never come back.

A really gross town, to be honest. Walking in the streets felt unsafe and borderline aggressive. Animals, homeless people, and trash as far as the eye could see. Beach was nice, though literally no females wear bathing suits, so my girlfriend felt wildly uncomfortable. Wifi was eh at our AirBnB and the cafes/restaurants we went to. The Hassan II mosque is really incredible, but otherwise, I'd never ever come back here.
