I spent one day (and night, by accident) in Chamonix. It was supposed to be a day-trip, but I didn't bother to read the sign where I parked the car and came back for it too late, after the lot was locked. This is a great place to visit if you want to get up into the mountains and see the glacier. I was saddened to see how much the glacier had receded over the years, but it's still worth exploring. The countryside around Chamonix is gorgeous.
