I know this is old but I’m only responding because I’m really curious. My friends in Egypt tell me that coffee shops rarely let you sit for more than an hour. Can you verify?

In Dahab for example there is a cafe with time limit depending on purchased amount

El Gouna is the best in Egypt for day to day living for remote workers- I cofounded the digital Gounies group there - been spending a few months a year. It’s a private town with its own rules and security (socially liberal,
religiously and politically neutral) - the most expensive out of all options in Egypt but good price to quality overall - there are Cons of course but you will notice them less as a renter.

I am in Cairo and the problem is not the time limit but that most places don’t have wifi for guests 😅 so in coffee shops here people work using their hotspot

Hey you guys I’m a nomad but need to organize a trip with my daughter over new year, so different from my usual. A couple of questions: is it ok for me to rent a car and drive from hurghada to Luxor on my own? Websites suggest to hire a driver but I normally drive on my own. Is it dangerous or problems with police ? Will I get stopped? If I want a good hotel by the water but not a mega all inclusive, in a part of town that is pretty but also real not tourist trap…. Where should I stay?
