How do you stay longer than 3 months in Sofia as a foreigner? Do you literally bring your flat owner to the notary to declare your address, really?

Hi, I spent 4 months there last winter, was so much fun 😊 don't use Airbnb there, easiest way to get ripped off. Join FB groups like Bansko Owners Renting for good deals. I stayed at Four Leaf Clover, very cheap and satisfactory. Join a coworking space to meet the community, most things centre around the coworking events and then you form a friend group

I would suggest hiring a professional for that, they can ellaborate how to get the residency. easier for EU passport holders

According to my research after you have done the rental agreement if you hold non-EU passport, you need to declare on notary

In bulgaria many things need to be notarized, also signing up as feelancer

usually you could get long term visa but you'd have to be married to "reunite as a family" otherwirse go to nearby nonschengen countries - albania, montenegro, cyprus (? unsure) etc

If you are a Bulgarian citizen then she "may" get 5 year residency card of family member, which is different than reunite as a family mentioned by fwkcllswdhaoyq above. That gives 1 year duration and needs to be extended every year

All right, we're pretty much in the same situation. I'm Bulgarian & Turkish living in Turkey and planning to move in Bulgaria

My wife is Turkish and based on my research for last couple months, this is the flow. You just skip the visa C part

- Visa C(touristic) ->
- Visa D ->
- Long Term Residence Permit ->
Fast forward 5 years
- Prolonged(Indefinite Residence Permit)
