Just is there enough to do and see in the city to spend a full month there? Compared to other cities. It’s been on my list for ages so am thinking of matching trying something similar

If your list only consists of Kazakh cities then yes, spend most of the time in Almaty and in its region. It simply has more going on in the city and many fun activities around it. If you're going to other Asian countries, then we don't know, you didn't give much information to help :-)

There’s so much hiking around here that one month isn’t even close to being enough. Mountains are really something else and the weather rn is amazing.

The city itself has a few attractions but you can do most of them in a day.

Also, it’s just so incredibly cheap compared to Western standards.

My Russian is ok, so I get by, but English isn’t too widely spoken.

We are in the digital nomad chat, aren't we? :-) Everyone works during weekdays and hikes are left for weekends and rare mornings without meetings.

I totally agree with last points, though. Life in Kazakhstan can be hard without Russian.

I‘m working from home, got a really nice Airbnb. It’s close to MEGA mall on Gagarin street (in Almaty that is)

I haven’t been but a friend of mine recommended her. Also all beauty industry in Kazakhstan is pretty good (especially nails) so most of the places should be decent to good. You can check rating either on Yandex maps or 2Gis (google maps is not as popular)

hmm, yandex maps and 2gis would be good to have. Perhaps Glovo for food delivery and Yandex Go (instead of uber)
