I want to travel to Malta the first time in March:

1. Any recommendations for a place not to much in the city center with more nature around it, but not to remote so you need a car? Is Gozo an option?

2. How do you find accommodations there? Any local platform which is worth checking?

For #2, I had good experience with Airbnb, multiple times, on long stays. So I would go with that. One surprising thing was that booking long in advance (3+ months) doesn’t pay off: prices at nicer properties get cheaper closer to the booking date.

paradoxically you’ll need a car to get anywhere that’s worth seeing unless you book in more expensive seaside areas like sliema, gzira, ta’xbiex or valletta

everything else is going to be a nightmare getting to valletta or sliema (tourist areas) on foot

No idea about cars or scooter rentals unfortunately, never rented any vehicle in Malta besides Lime and Bolt scooters (which are banned anyway for the last couple of years).
