Hi gents, I’m planning to spend a couple of months in KL. Which part of the city would you say is best to stay in? I’m not bothered about nightlife just looking for somewhere decent, not rough, and fairly close to the main spots.

it's not always easy to find apartments for less than 6 months, so I recommend using Airbnb or Booking.com (which I had more success with). This summarizes well : https://klnomads.anonoz.com/neighbourhoods/

I stayed for 6 weeks this September-October in Bukit Bintang at Robertson Residences complex. It was definitely decent, and quite central. I think most of these two buildings are short term rentals, there are hundreds of units in 2 towers. Booked through Airbnb a couple of months in advance, paid around €1.7k/month. If I’m back to KL next year, I’ll be trying to stay in the same spot.

I used to stay here around 6 months / year for 10 years roughly. Currently more often in KL. But I’m here til end of Dec. There’s a Penang nomad and expat group. Although I’m not really active in that as I hangout more with my local friends here. Some coworking spaces also have a bit of community here.

I hear online that Bangsar South and Mont Kiara are worth looking at first, with the latter being more expat-dense. The place i got in Bangar South seems more than adequately equipped
