I am not really a nomad, since I have a permanent address and live close to Frankfurt, however, I work fully remote and would still like to visit some places ✨ So I'm planning to do a remote work week next year in Black Forest, being close to nature, exploring the woods and stuff 🌲🌿. I am trying to secure a flat in Berlin through wunderflats for 3 months starting in 20 days. First application was declined and second one is still pending landlord approval a day after I submitted. Not sure why they'd decline. is that too long ahead of my stay?

Airbnb prices are absurd and wunderflat/homesanywhere doesn’t make sense as the additional fees aren’t justified with me just staying for a month. If anyone knows someone subletting a room / flat in Kreuzberg/prenzlauer/schöneberg or have any ideas on other sites / WhatsApp groups that could work for me please lmk / dm me. I stayed over NYE at the Social Hub in Berlin, for 9 nights, and really liked it. They have a coworking space included in the price. The gym is great (for hotel standards). Depending on the room, it’s €2-2.5k/month in May/June. Also stayed at that chain in Barcelona, and had equally good experience. The only downside was that my room didn’t have a fridge.

Also, since it seems you don’t need to be specifically in Berlin, then if you just want a large, German-speaking city take a look at Vienna. I always see great deals for Airbnbs there.

Thank you ujtrjnmgx ! That one was on my list too! I vibe well with Berlin but open to a place that’s more chill (less party) but also equally as stimulating. I’ve been in LatAm for 9 years (which I’ve loved) but I’m looking for a little culture shock now! Haha. So very interested in Western Europe (would do nordics but it’s super pricey).

If you want cheaper Nordics, at least in terms of accomodation, then Helsinki should be fine ;) Or Tallinn (my home base). Estonians usually self-identify as Nordic people. That’s as affordable Nordics as you can get (and the opposite of LatAm in terms of vibe).
