I couldn't get used to the xreal ๐Ÿ˜”
If anyone is around Argentina, and want to buy a pair, lemme know ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
I've got the Viture Pro as well, it's a good setup but I'm looking forward to the next version of the Xreal, Viture and Rokid... They are getting closer to the full field of view like the VR headsets and adding cameras for more stability.

That's the only negatives right now in my opinion.

The screens sometimes drift with head movement and the fov is not big enough to see multiple screens at once but you can turn your head to fully access a 3 monitor setup.

I switch between my Quest 3 and Viture Pro depending on the context.

At home mostly the Quest 3 because of the field of view.
I love the xreals - I use them basically exclusively now
much easier to carry than a stand & an external keyboard

Interesting. How long does the battery last, and how much screen time can you have daily compared to a basic doublescreen setup? Some mobile screens hardly weigh anything and are 8mm thin, so I wonder if you can replace them or if it is something nice to have that you can use for a few hours daily. What features do you see that should be improved, which you expect from the next version?
buninoo 3mo
there is no battery

for the complete screen replacement I think itโ€™s individual. It can be hard on the eyes or blurry on the edges or resolution might be not enough (itโ€™s only full hd). I personally had some days and maybe weeks using it as a main display and it was okay, just had to take a break every now and then.
buninoo 3mo
and when Iโ€™m not traveling I still prefer big-ass 4k monitor
yeah th edges are blurry so I downscaled it to 1600x900
but my workflow is already single screen, single app at a time anyways
I use a tabbed window manager and am just rapidly switching back and forth between browser / terminal / whatever
so if someone has a workflow that relies on keeping a lot open at the same time that would be much harder to switch
in terms of the eye strain I already had a program set up to lock me out of my computer every 40 minutes to force me to get up & stretch
and the helps a lot with reducing eye strain as well
I have the Viture Pros with the Space Walker app, I can do 3 virtual screens or one big ultra wide.

I still prefer my Quest 3 if I'm at home most of the time but I think the next generation of Xreal and Viture will be a sweet spot with bigger field of view and 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF)

Who has the Mous Backpack? Just curious..
tonyd 2mo
AirPods Pro 3 - well worth the upgrade from 2โ€™s. Better NC, mic, wind noise resistance, fit etc. if you have 1s itโ€™s a no brainer to upgrade.
Definitely agree! I have the pro 1โ€™s and upgraded also. I donโ€™t pack my old over-ear Bose QCโ€™s anymore. Iโ€™ve had AirPods since the original ones from 2017 and been sold ever since.
tonyd 2mo
Ya Iโ€™m considering selling my Bose QuietComfort Ultra over-ear headphones now.

I'm in caba and would like to try them out if possible? Sounds cool

Can anyone recommend good earplugs comfortable to sleep?
looking for a good toiletry bag
any recommendations?
yes
QuietOn 4
Soundcore Sleep A30
i have these, thinking about buying the other ones
they are quite good
ok, checked the reviews on this one and they are bad

Here are the key takeaways about QuietOn 4 Sleep Earbuds:
Major Problems:

~35-40% suffer chronic charging failures - earbuds die within weeks to 2 years, with right earbud failing most often
Company bankrupt (June 2024) - warranty support collapsed, customer service unresponsive, refunds impossible for many
Trustpilot 2.7/5 from 498 reviews - extremely polarized: 38% give 5 stars, 42% give 1 star
$250-289 price - many users say $5 foam earplugs work better

What Works:

Exceptional 28-hour battery life - 3-4 nights per charge, 80+ hours total with case
World's smallest ANC earbuds - 11mm long, 2.4g, genuinely tiny
Good for low-frequency noise - traffic, AC hum, airplane engines, mild snoring
Back sleepers generally satisfied - comfortable for all-night wear when not pressing on pillow

What Doesn't Work:

Fails at high-pitched snoring - physics limitation of ANC technology above 1kHz
Side sleepers struggle - hard plastic shell causes ear pain for ~40% of users
Poor for voices/conversation - ANC ineffective at higher frequencies
Non-replaceable batteries - entire unit becomes e-waste when batteries fail at 2 years

Bottom Line:
High-risk purchase with ~60-70% chance of disappointment through either defects, ineffectiveness for your noise type, or comfort issues. Only consider if you're a back sleeper with low-frequency noise problems and can afford to gamble $250.

Why do you need anc buds to sleep?
paul040 22d
Just get those wax things
Aer Travel Kit 2 X-Pac
it blocks noise better
looks small, can you wash it?
i feel like you need something that you can throw into a washing machine
cuz they all start to smell bad after a while
I donโ€™t see why you couldnโ€™t. They are built very well. It holds all my essentials, minus electric razor
I have Loop ear plugs and I love them
paul040 22d
I highly doubt that
noelly 22d
are these indeed comfortable to sleep?
yes
noelly 22d
it looks like a very worthy purchase
Brooo, totally getting this. Shout out!

Laser Lite LL-1 - been using them for years..

I tried the Soundcore A30 buds out, and they are not ready for prime time - the software is poor, battery life doesn't really last the whole night. They have a weird bug where randomly they will play a high volume, high pitched feedback noise, (yes can happen while you are asleep). They tried to ship a couple fixes, but nothing since then, and now I've seen them on sale for up to 40% off, so seems like they might be trying to clear out stock. I'd wait for a gen 2 before trying them out.
i have them they don't have any of those problems
they have like a 70h battery life or some shit

anyone have recommendations for something to carry medical stuff
like it's a plastic bag in my laugage but i'm not too happy with that solution
tonyd 17d
The case has great batterylife (days), the buds themsleves can't make it a night with ANC on.

What kind of medical stuff? I have a small red packing cube that I use for med stuff - pills, couple band aids, and what not. Been using it for about 8 years now. I use some old pill bottle in it to store small items, mixed quantities of random meds vs multiple bottles.
In my experience they had enough power to go through a whole day
Yeah like a packing cube or something
