2 year warranty in EU also. Apple care is more of an insurance plan than an extended warranty. I only get apple care because it’s cheaper than premium device insurance when spread over 3 years.

you see, the space at the very top where the menu bar is cant be filled with any app space (in this case my maxed out brave windows). afaik its only fillable with the menubar. even if you hide the menubar. then the space will just be empthy once the menubar is hidden

Hi guys! Any affordable gimbal you would recommend? I'm not sure if this will stick with me, but I'm planning to take some videos while travellng. Some sort of vlogs.. that's what im hoping to do. Perhaps. Not sure 😄 My friend disscouraged me of getting a proper camera / GP as this seem a bit more costly and recommended to start with just my iphone and gimbal. Sooo. any reco? DJI’s Osmo mobile is fine too if you’re on low budget. I personally find it easier to make short videos with phone and upload them without editing than using any separate device. I guess it’s trial and error until you find your thing.

Yeah, start it small and upgrade it once the need appears. That’s how I started my smartphone journey back in the days, late bloomer, I guess I could say. I never uploaded my Osmo Pocket 2 videos anywhere since the editing part was nowhere near as fun as planning, writing, and filming the videos. Some AI-based video editors are already on the market, but I’m sure someone else can better tip this topic.

Also - buy something used and try it out, if you don't like it, just flip it. Less risk, lower cost etc.. IE grab a Pocket 1 or 2, or a previous gen Osmo or whatever..

I can also see that someone could be disappointed if you expect a powerful, all-in-one gadget; the current tech isn’t just advanced enough in these features in such a small space, and I guess you get what you pay for, since premium always has a higher price tag. These are basically the first or 2nd model?

I’m waiting for the gimbal sunglasses, but even with them, you have to concentrate on keeping your head stable enough to get the pro-quality, so maybe need to keep waiting for a gimbal that you attach to your shoulders to balance your head so you can record non-shaky footage. 😁

Another option might be the Meta Raybans or Oakleys if you are doing videos about travel and don't know if it will stick this could be a great way to get a useful pair of sunglasses or prescription glasses and have the video, audio and photos capabilities.

The camera is ok. I mean, for social media it works fine..
The thing is that a led is continuously blinking when you are recording, quite annoying/distracting 😅

I don't find too many people even notice them blinking honestly but you can buy some covers from Tiktok that dim the light and don't trigger the "camera is covered" error

I was also thinking that it would be good to have some UV filter kind of cover, not to scratch them, but probably just daydreaming.

I've got the Viture Pro as well, it's a good setup but I'm looking forward to the next version of the Xreal, Viture and Rokid... They are getting closer to the full field of view like the VR headsets and adding cameras for more stability.

That's the only negatives right now in my opinion.

The screens sometimes drift with head movement and the fov is not big enough to see multiple screens at once but you can turn your head to fully access a 3 monitor setup.

I switch between my Quest 3 and Viture Pro depending on the context.

At home mostly the Quest 3 because of the field of view.

I love the xreals - I use them basically exclusively now

Interesting. How long does the battery last, and how much screen time can you have daily compared to a basic doublescreen setup? Some mobile screens hardly weigh anything and are 8mm thin, so I wonder if you can replace them or if it is something nice to have that you can use for a few hours daily. What features do you see that should be improved, which you expect from the next version?

I have the Viture Pros with the Space Walker app, I can do 3 virtual screens or one big ultra wide.

I still prefer my Quest 3 if I'm at home most of the time but I think the next generation of Xreal and Viture will be a sweet spot with bigger field of view and 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF)
