Wabi Hostel private rooms in European side is a lovely time. I stayed there for a month last October. (wifi is only ok, so I recommend going to a cafe during the day if you work from home. There's a lovely cafe right across the street)

Definitely a party hostel. Boat parties on weekends (not sure when that'll end—depends on weather). During the week, there's hostel social events and bar crawls. Lots of diversity. Last year I met people from Turkey, Afghanistan, Australia, UK, Germany, you name it. Mix of digital nomad and travelers. Average age (from what I recall) is 25-40

I agree it has a weird vibe, I stayed just 4 days and the place looks old and not really well mantained. But there are definetly people to meet and the whatsapp group can be a good asset if staying here for long time. Their wifis are very good, around 200+ Mbps. There are only private rooms and each has a desk.

Was there end of October last year and it was suuuper warm and GORGEOUS! I remember my Airbnb host mentioning you can still swim there in December!! Honestly would probably be a really good time w it being off season as well.

On the 29th, there's a Republic Day celebration in Istanbul, and I arrive in the city that day at 6:00 PM. I've heard traffic can be very heavy. For getting from the airport (Sabina Gökçen) to accommodation in the city center, would you recommend Uber, a taxi, or the train and metro? Thanks in advance!

That is not correct. Marmaray (commuter train) doesn't extend to SAW. You can instead take the regular subway all the way to Kadıköy if staying there otherwise change to Marmaray to get to the European side.

I’m in Istanbul (kadikoy) for the next 4 days, free during the day and working US hours at night! Hmu if anybody wants to explore the city together, grab some food, or has reccs for things to check out!

I stayed in Konyaaltı while there and don’t regret it one bit.

Have also heard good things about Coworking Antalya though, I know a lot of folks stay closer to that area for the community aspect.

Levent / Etiler / Ulus as it is winter and one may not chose to be next to the Bosporus and you will also have Metro Access
Tepebasi / Beyoğlu / Taksim in you really wanna be in a more authentic atmosphere
Nişantaşı - kind of London’s Bond Steer Atmosphere (just nicer in my view )
I’m also visiting Istanbul these days (lived here 21 years before, now in Thailand)

Take a train to Eskişehir! It’s beautiful.

You can go around Abant Lake which is an amazing nature
This is not the season so I’d advice to check before you go as for what’s open and available
