Why almost none talking here? Come to Palermo, not expensive, nice people, good weather. Well, maybe not in winter, but usually... ๐Ÿ˜‚
skato 2mo
Just joking, but I was really wondering why we have such a small nomad community in Italy
I am in Syracuse, on Sicily as well ๐Ÿ‘‹
Asia and South America looks like ruling in this community ๐Ÿ˜„
But in general - Italy looks like surprisingly unpopular among nomads, especially south? Like, I even feel sometimes like an alien when I see how people on Sicily for example can look at me as someone pale white who behaves like a local instead of walking with a backpack and camera around touristic places ๐Ÿ˜…

Hey everone, do you know if I qualify for the Lavoratori Impatriati regime without a degree, but with 8 years of work experience?
pgagnidze 2mo
I have some coursework towards bachelor's degree, but not actual degree.
champanja 2mo
As far as I know you need a degree
pgagnidze 2mo
Yeah it seems like that

Thanks for the details

Ciao a tutti, I hope you're all well? Apologies, I'm new here, but can anyone link me to previous/existing intel on visas? Trying to navigate applying for a tourist visa vs friends/family vs waiting longer for digital nomad visa for UK citizen... if anyone can point me at existing chat that would be ace - or if you're happy to chat with me, I'd be super appreciative! Buon natale, when it comes!
Hi, I just finished writing my "master plan 2025" and for historical/symbolic reasons, it should be done in/near Florence. A few questions:

1. Ideally, I need to get in touch with the city/region to see if they've some lands that could fit my project and if we can find a win-win deal. Plan B: find unused/abandoned lands or villages. Plan C: see with local real estate agents.
Anyone have contacts of that kind to introduce me?

2. I might be willing to go in the area in Jan-Feb. So I'm looking for accommodation. I'll probably build a camper van, so ideally close to a makerspace.

3. I'm still somewhat a resident of Belgium. Is it possible to have a car (license plates, insurance) in Italy; without being an Italian citizen? ๐Ÿ™„
3. You don't need to be a citizen but residency is required
Could you post link to this PDF? As I know, degree is not strictly needed and this screenshot looks like being about academic people, not everyone interested ๐Ÿค” As I understand, this is not Papuna's case (8 years of work exp is the case)

Hi all -- this is my itinerary in Italy this month! Would love to meet you for a coffee/lunch. I've met half-a-dozen people from the Nomads.com community while traveling and want it to be much higher!
Hi. Anyone in Italian Alps?
olehply 2mo
Hi
is anyone in Rome?
Hey, fellow nomads! ๐Ÿ‘‹
Iโ€™m Claudia, a digital nomad from Italy.
With Trame Living, weโ€™ve been crafting experiences for location independent professionals to connect and thrive in the sunny South of Italy.

Now, weโ€™re taking you to some of our favorite spots across this beautiful country.

Whatโ€™s the deal?
โœจ Communityโ€”a small group of cool people who just get it
โœจ Authentic Italian vibesโ€”sunny streets, fresh local food, and warm welcomes at every turn
โœจ Top-notch Wi-Fi and work-friendly spaces with actual desks and comfy chairs
โœจ Activities and workshop to explore the local culture
โœจ Private accommodation in the heart of the city

We spent Autumn in Sicily and we fell in love, so we we had to go back to check out what spring is like!

Join us on our first stop this March in Palermo, for the whole month or just 2 weeks
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ1-30 March
๐Ÿ“Palermo

Spaces are limited. (Not a marketing trickโ€”we just keep it small so it feels more like a community than a conference ๐ŸŒธ)

Get in touch for more info โœจ

Come work, explore, and maybe even slow down a little โ˜€๏ธ

I'm looking for some honest opinions: Are Italians welcoming to Asians?

I completely understand the frustration caused by rude and disrespectful Asian tourists. However, after reading about the backlash against tourists and nomads from Spain, and other asian travelersโ€™ experience in Italy I want more data. Maybe itโ€™s just certain cities in Italy?

I'm curious about why the situation is different in Italy. My partner loves Italy, and we want to move to different cities to experience the culture

Itโ€™s hard to tell, but generally italians are not so open to foreigners in general (asian tourists actually are among the most polite though). Obviously it depends on the city: the situation is much better in large cities like Milan and Turin, and worse in small towns.
Feel free to ask if you have more questions!

Avoid the swamped tourist shitholes like Florence, Venice, Rome and focus on business cities or midsize and smaller towns that need tourists and you will be fine. Wife is Korean and never has an issue with that stuff in Italy. I'd second Turin as an Italy recommendation plus all the little towns in the Langhe: Alba, Asti, etc. Learn a little Italian too (at least enough to order an espresso or a bottle of wine)...goes a long way and is a fun language to speak :)

Hey fellow nomads! Iโ€™m new hereโ€”anyone currently in Turin or Milan?
nataly 24d
Hii Iโ€™m thinking of going to Florence next month for a few days. Has anyone stayed at the social hub?
nonno84 24d
If you can get a car and do a road trip in the middle of Italy in Spring, better staying in small towns. Apart from a few diheads, that you can find everywhere, people will be welcoming if you act like a respectful person interested in knowing the place and the people. I'm from a 2000 inhabitants village in the middle of Marche and most of the time when a foreigner passes nearby or even more stops at the bar, I swear, you people are just curious and surprised. And most of them would love to communicate, but they cannot.

I never saw hate towards Asians by Italians . Asians are well respected also because they have many businesses here like China markets and sushi restaurants, almost all cities have at least a big china market. Asians are hard workers and they never cause a problem to our country, then I think yours is a unnecessary concern my friend.
Hey Nataly, nice to meet you. Are you passing just by Florence or also other cities?
nataly 24d
Just Florence! Well this time around just Florence for some thrift shopping ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Are you in Florence or traveling around?
I am btw Milan and Turin
You will live Florence
Btw depending by the days you are staying
You can take advantage and visit also Bologna, Roma, Milan
They are just few hour by fast train
love
nataly 24d
Yesss I've been there before and one of my favorites besides Sicily.
Ciao a tutti! I'm a newbie digital nomad, born and raised in Sweden but with Italian roots (hence my name). I want to connect with my roots and looking to travel Italy more in the upcoming years. I'm very flexible on exact destination, but happy to meet up with other digital nomads, entrepreneurs or startup founders. To co-work, enjoy off-time, hike, etc. I'm also looking into brushing up my Italian. If anyone's game to connect during 2025 or onward, let's get in touch. / Dante
I am in italy from Oktober 4th close to Volterra/Toskana. And I am looking for a place to stay longer. I wonder if there is a nomad community or any recommended City
