Hi,
Quick question: which telco provider have you had a good experience with?

Is anyone using an eSIM with unlimited data for work? If so, would you recommend it? Did you get your SIM card at the airport, or somewhere else? I’ll need unlimited data for work (and safety reasons), as I’d prefer not to rely too much on Wi-Fi. I’d really appreciate if you could share your experience. 🙏

My eSIM was automatically connecting me to 3G so I manually changed it to Vodafone network and I’ve been getting 4G LTE all over SA since. 👍🏻

I got a Vodacom data bundle. 75gb. Was enough for me for a month at 4G speeds.

I bought vodacom 20gb (10gb day/10gb night)... and I recommend just using Nomad or Airalo. I smashed through the 10gb in a week, there was no way to see that, and the app doesn't work for esims, and its all just pain, not worth it

Hi South Africans! I have received an invitation to volunteer as a teacher for an NGO based in Bellville South/ Glenhaven near Cape Town from July till end of September. Would you recommend this area for safety and do you happen to know if there are any accommodations through nomads roommate and/or inter generational housing nearby?

Update : the NGO is based near Observatory Station so it seems less dangerous. Let me know if there are any peculiarities to this area I should learn about before committing to go there.
