Estonia is pretty good for that. I’m using an accountant, but I think you should be able to handle declarations yourself - everything is in English.

It’s an active business, but yes, we also have some investments through that (publicly traded stocks as well). I don’t know how double taxation issues work with holding companies. I can only recommend Estonia as a low-cost, business-friendly place to set up a company. Taxes are not ultra competitive, but it’s really low hassle otherwise (been doing it for 9 years).

I used to live in between Ericeira and Mafra, happy to help.

tl;dr if you’re considering places around Ericeira: most likely a car is needed, or at the very least an e-bike. Other than that it’s a sweet deal as there’s a bigger pool of houses to choose from.

I have a few friends who converted their license from various other countries. Depending on the country the process might take anywhere from a month or two to several months.

If your license is from Brazil however, I believe there’s no need to swap it. It’s supposed to be equally valid in Portugal as long as it’s within the expiration date.
