Hey guys someone did the process of moving his residency to AUE / Paraguy and can help me with some questions? Thanks
Does anyone know where you can buy raw milk in Asuncion?
sensaydan 2mo
Just arrived in Asuncion for a week if anyone is around to meet up or if there are any cool events going on
sensaydan 2mo
doing my tax residency this week, will let you know
sensaydan 2mo
still here?
Hey why is everyone loving Paraguay? Looks great, but is it just to save money and the potential for another passport. Whatโ€™s there to do? Itโ€™s landlocked so I wasnโ€™t sure what itโ€™d be like compared to other surrounding nations like Uruguay for example
replay 2mo
There are other countries where it's easier to get the passport, I don't think that's the reason.
I wrote a post where I summarized Paraguay in my personal experience: https://t.me/c/1384416925/3278/10160
Iโ€™ll check it out

Im making the move to PY early next year. Ive been back and forth a few times. The last time I went I met lots of great people there, all on the same wavelength.
Building and growing themselves and or their businesses. Lots of people still travel to exotic beautiful places, but they use PY as their base to get shit done.

Plus property is so cheap they can keep their life there and come and go without having to carry their life everytime.
You get a high quality of life for super cheap, so even when youre putting your head down to work hard, you can spoil yourself with top quality steak and wine for cheap as chips.
Then use time off to explore Brazil or Argentina etc.

Plus a hands off govt is very alluring for many
replay 2mo
I agree that I very enjoy the hands-off government.

I came to Paraguay in 2017, before that I've spent the years 2006 - 2013 in China, so I can see the huge contrast between these two countries where one government tries to regulate every detail of your life while the other one is more like "just try to not harm anyone, then you'll be fine".

Since 2017! Ok youre a PY OG ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ well played

Hi did you manage to do it yourself? Im being charged $3100 for express temp residency another 500 for tax id and then in 2 years another 2k for permanent residency. I saw someone else say somewhere its doable yourself? I dont mind paying for a service but if its really simple it feels like its a bit too much
How big is the nomad community in Asuncion?
sensaydan 27d
I paid about the same, the service was good and easy, its a lot of paperwork. could be done by yourself but not sure the cost saving would outweigh the time cost
nightwolf 27d
Okay thanks for your reply ill just have them do it tthen
As a heads up for anyone getting residency or cรฉdula in Paraguay. I would highly NOT recommend using Jerz or โ€œThe Jerz wayโ€ as a consultant or his legal team.
Me and one other guy used him 14 months ago and have basically had no updates and assume our money and efforts were wasted.
glyphx 27d
That's ridiculously high. I'd shop around a bit, there's dozens of reputable agents posting on the Facebook groups. I paid $2200 and I realized through the process it was just basically outsourced to a local who does it for $1600. Tax ID shouldn't be more than $100 unless you're doing it remotely, you can do that yourself too.
nightwolf 27d
Ah thanks will have a look, this price was express service where i only need to be 3 days in asuncion and the rest remote
nightwolf 27d
But i have all the proper apostilled paperwork already
glyphx 26d
Just about every provider has an express option and even that typically doesn't run more than 2300 including tax ID & residency certificate, kyc & mailing address, drivers license etc. Feel free to DM if you want some contacts.

So I managed to do a bit of A/B testing with Paraguayan residency. I was there with my girlfriend and Paraguayan residency was something I really wanted to do for myself, but my girlfriend was ambivalent about getting it for her. I hired a helper for my residency and she did hers on her own. I got my residency months quicker than she got hers. It also seemed she had more appointmentsโ€ฆ more buildings and various errands the government was making her go to. But hers was free other than a few hundred dollars of government fees (I donโ€™t remember the exact price).
That's about right from my experience as well, we have a number of people who have been able to get it themselves in a very affordable way but it does require figuring out the process and multiple steps etc.
There's some guides from the community now for the temporary residency
nightwolf 25d
Thanks for the info, i think for me its easier to just get the agency since i will be traveling around a lot and not staying in asuncion
What Neobanks can be accesed with the paraguayan residency?
I've seen Wise and Revolut don't allow personal accounts with paraguayan paperwork
glyphx 25d
I switched my Wise to Paraguay almost a year ago and haven't had any issues, I don't use it as much as I used to though.
glyphx 25d
I think Meru is one of the only neobanks active here right now and I didn't have a great experience with them.
nightwolf 25d
I read as well that Wise in 2023 they stopped accepting new accounts from paraguay but if you have an account already you can still change you address to paraguay and keep your account
nightwolf 25d
revolut doesn't let me change it to an address outside of the eu then it tells me to close the account
Same here. No issues
regiani 23d
Can you share the consultant/agency you used? How much it cost?
regiani 23d
Anyone has a trustworthy contact for paraguay residence assistance?
toures 17d
I think Avici also supports Paraguay currently
toures 17d
I can hook you up, had a great experience with mine
eldanielo 17d
Could you tell us more about Meru? ๐Ÿ™
eldanielo 17d
Thx, doesn't sound too good
kaskuk 17d
You definitely have to speak Spanish. I completed the temporary residency process myself as a non-native speaker, and I found it pretty easy. Getting the ID card, on the other hand, wasnโ€™t, but I did it myself, too.
kaskuk 17d
How hard can it be for lawyers if I can do it without being a native speaker with my technical career degree? ๐Ÿ˜… Just studied 6 weeks of Spanish back in the days and learned the rest by speaking. Cheez. Something doesnโ€™t add up.
gigabee 17d
If u want to spend time and energy doing the research, go for it.

Ive lived in many countries and gone through many residence applications over the years, and now I always pay a lawyer. The stress, the frustration of contradicting information, the research, the confusion, id rather pay someone who knows the exact ins and outs. Time is money. And there's no price tag for my peace and harmony ๐Ÿชท

Each to their own. But you defo get what you pay for. And with Paraguay residence, I happily paid, and the whole thing took less than 4 hrs from hotel pick up to hotel drop off
kaskuk 17d
Yeah, been around the block myself, too, in residency terms. As Bee said, itโ€™s pretty subjective, and one person's โ€œeasyโ€ can be another person's nightmare.
gigabee 17d
I admire you for still wanting to do the process yourself. After my 5th residency process I tapped out ๐Ÿ˜‚
falconb0 17d
DM me if you want to know who I used. It was something like $1500. I'm divided on whether I would recommend them or want to use them again.
Asking for a friend here, looking to go to paraguay, in and out. Get the residency, set up international and crypto friendly banking and get out.

If you know anyone please DM me!
Being offered a 3500 deal for a 120 day turnover seems excessive
I'm keen to hear about such a service too
