Hey guys! Does anyone know an affordable general doctor in Palermo or surroundings. I think im quite sick.
Not sure about how expensive it is now, but I have pretty good references from Sanatorio Mater Dei
https://g.co/kgs/CtcpbWs
tom888 24d
I assume absolutely nobody else here is randomly in La Plata haha
njo 23d
I was also just looking for a local doctor for checkups and stuff. I didn't visit this one yet, but incase its helpful seems well reviewied and speaks good English: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3QvSMVyVcZvhb4pn7
njo 23d
if you need anything while you're sick, hmu. Nothing worse than being deathly sick in a city where you don't have people around to help out.
njo 23d
Ohhh, nice! I just saw they appear to have Doctoraliar here! I've used this site while travelling in Central / South America, it's awesome. It's basically a searchable directory of all types of medical specialists - with reviews / booking availability etc. In my experience, most will say they can speak English - but then you meet them and realise it's limited to just "Hello, how would you like to pay?" ๐Ÿ˜‚ but in most cases, you can send them a WhatsApp and confirm their level of spoken English (or whichever other language) to make sure they'll understand everything when you meet them.

Here's the filtered view for GPs / Family Doctors in Palermo: https://www.doctoraliar.com/buscar?q=M%C3%A9dico%20general%20y%20familiar&loc=Palermo%2C%20Ciudad%20Aut%C3%B3noma%20de%20Buenos%20Aires&filters%5Bspecializations%5D%5B%5D=38

You can easily update the search based on what you need (e.g gastroenterologists for stomach issues, psychiatrists etc)
for those who are in BA, I found an amazing gym with new equipment

Has anyone solved the Surety Bond / Guarentor issue when renting an apartment here? I know there's some short term rental options that don't require it (under 3 months normally), but I just found a place and the agent said the Surety Bond can be done through an insurnce company - which costs a whole month rent for 1 year of insurance, which seems ridiculous.
It's kind of ridiculous, yes, but 99% request that. Also, it's weird because is not possible if you don't have a residence
I mean, that's the standard procedure for residents to rent actually

Hi, can anyone help me understand this document from ARCA about 2025 income tax brackets? Is my understanding correct that that from 0 ARS - 101.679.575,26 ARS it's 25% income tax?

Hello from France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

Iโ€™m arriving on Wednesday for my first solo trip to Argentina ๐Ÿฅบ
Iโ€™ve already been there with a local, but this will be my first time alone! โ˜บ๏ธ

Excited to rediscover this country :)
cancucs 18d
It seems so, but what's that document about? Is that formally employed? Shouldn't you be using Monotributo?
tprahm 17d
Would anyone like to meetup today casually for some drinks this evening?
cancucs 17d
buenos aires? ๐Ÿฅฒ
Is there some people in Cordoba? What about a riverside day trip?
Just a comment but next to Diablo is La Crew coffee shop, service and coffee 100% recommended ๐Ÿ‘Œ ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Today is very hot outside, but tomorrow I'm for a coffee if you want! After office maybe, where are you staying?
tprahm 17d
Sure thing! I am in Palermo SoHo, you?
Villa Crespo, let's sync tomorrow
I'm planning some vacation time between Bariloche, Montevideo, and Valparaรญso, Chile. Is 4, 5, and 5 days, respectively a good way to split them up? Should I cut short the Montevideo trip by a day?

It'll be my first time in all 3. We'll have Buenos Aires as a home base for 2 weeks and then Santiago at the end for another 2 weeks but that will be remote work for the most part.
dschulman 14d
I'd skip Montevideo altogether, minimize Chile, and spend more time in Buenos Aires and Bariloche. Depending on when you're going Bariloche might be too cold for hiking and no snow for skiing.
just got total $6 + 1.4% rate on exchange process btc->pesos:
btc->usdt atomic swap - 0.5% + $3 network fee
usdt->pesos - $3 network fee, 0.9% comission by exchange when compared to rate on https://www.lanacion.com.ar/dolar-hoy/

this is lower than rates mentioned by other members so i thought iโ€™d let know, i guess you could also atomic swap straight onto the exchange and skip one of the network fees
Damn no Uruguay at all? Lol. That uninteresting out there?

Minimize Chile to what extent?
I'm traveling there for the month of March through mid April
dschulman 14d
In Uruguay, Punta del Este is an ok beach area. It's kind of interesting quiet the ocean on one side and the river in the other. Polonia has nice sunsets but is supposedly expensive these days and still hard to get to. Colonia is ok for a half day trip. Montevideo doesn't really seem interesting.

Chile is a super fascinating country, but for it's nature not the towns and cities. If you were planning on Torres del Paine, Atacama desert, Lake region, Isla Pascua, etc. , I'd say go, go, go. Otherwise, Santiago is mostly good for flight connections.
dschulman 14d
I'm currently in Bariloche. Temperature ranges greatly during the day. Mornings are already pretty cold, but it is nice in the afternoon. I think by March it might be too cold, I am planning on spending most of the month in Buenos Aires.
nthnjns 14d
Good info. Any idea on pricing for monthly car rentals in Chile? Seems like the best way to see the southern part...
cancucs 14d
If you want to visit Uruguay, I would go by buquebus (or colonia express) to Colonia, walk around all the day, then go by bus to Montevideo, and stay there one day (at most 2), and go by buquebus from Montevideo back to buenos aires.
Colonia is nice but small. Montevideo has a nice beach, and the old town is really nice too.

Any recommendations for a lap swimming pool? Either with day passes or can get some type of membership without long term contract. I am willing to pay a bit more if it is not too crowded and well-maintained.

Hello everyone,
My collaborator and I are looking for a Spanish-speaking female influencer already active on social media, primarily on Instagram and, if possible, on YouTube, in the digital work and career change niche.

What's the mosquitos situation right now in BA?
allgo 11d
A year ago it was pretty vicious
ericmiki 11d
Anyone near Cรณrdoba these days? ๐Ÿ‘€
haven't seen any mosquitoes
I'm here! It's my birthplace actually. I'm planning on going nomad in the next months
dschulman 10d
Does anyone have a SportClub membership? I was wondering about the quality of the facilities and how crowded they are. I am guessing the answer varies greatly by different location, so any specific insights at about the clubs nearish Palermo.

Also on the Flex plan it looks like you have to pay a day rate to enter the Plus clubs. About how much is that?
cancucs 10d
I'm here too, we can organize a meetup
allgo 10d
Give them a week or two... last year this time of the year they were VICIOUS

anyone want to play tennis wednesday? we have 3 people and a court rented from 8am to 10am
catalin 9d
hey guys, is argentina doing better now? I left one year ago because things went so bad
Eh?
Do you mean: hey guys is argentina cheap like 2023 or expensive like 2024?
what is โ€œbetterโ€ for you?
agutole 9d
im from argentina, at the moment we are suuuper expensive in dollars
antey13 9d
arenโ€™t short term rentals cheaper now?
agutole 9d
not really, last year (since the new government assumed) we had an inflation in dollars of ~280%, so if you come with dollars you'll pay super expensive prices compared to one year ago. We have currency exchange controls so we don't know how much the exchange rate will stay as is now, and this is an elections year, so probably until after the elections (end of october) we'll still be expensive
catalin 9d
food quality for example was so bad it got very difficult to find good things, prices got also very high and in buenos aires construction everywhere.
its my first time here

everything is as you described
agutole 9d
what food have you tasted?
agutole 9d
i can mention a few if you didn't taste it yet
agutole 9d
other than bbq
catalin 9d
for example from our apartment the fucking window was falling out, we had to call the police to help us. also the rent was high.
catalin 9d
I tried different restaurants and it was super good. everything just changed, same restaurants, same food.

I stayed in buenos aires, cordoba and mendoza. almost 6 months.

Yeah is not the best infrastructure, that's why you need to do you research and spreadsheet of which place to buy to automatize that process. I do that for my schedule meeting.
eu4life 5d
I come from Venezuela and living in Argentina and the infrastructure problem is a huge time-consuming issue, something that in Rio de Janeiro, Miami or big cities that works smoothly
Crap, missed it this time:)

Has anyone found a neobank / digital bank in Argentina that can be used by foreigners without an Argentinian ID?
The closest you can get is Prex Uruguay
njo 3d
ahh interesting. do you know if they permit transacting ARS (either storing ARS in a wallet, or ideally also local ARS transfers?)
I think (people can correct me) they allow you to exchange ARS and spend with a card in ARS, but no transfers (except between Prex <> Prex)
At least I use Prex Chile and I can do that
No, you need ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท ID
agutole 1d
the best option and best exchange rate is taking with you phisical dollars and exchange them in a "cave", then pay in cash, many places have discounts when paying cash isntead of with cards
