If it helps, I spent just a morning there around the main lake. I mainly spent my time in a close rural town called Dhital. More specifically at this place:

The couple who host is very warm, you have the most incredible view to the Annapurna range, and the food is delicious. The owner is a guide, so he can take you for hikes as well.

I was there in January 2025, but was not working online. Though I was able get WiFi pretty much everywhere, and you can get a SIM at the airport for like $20 the month.

I found a lot of travelers staying in the Thamel area, of course, very busy, with a lot of restaurants offers.
If you are open to work from a more calm and rural area I would recommend a lot to go to Changunarayan. It is a town of artists. There is a guest house there called "The Nest Guest House". Pretty cool view of the valley, Kathmandu and the Himalayas. You also get to see artist at work and even take classes with them on Thankga painting.
There are also a lot of options in the Bhaktapur area, but cannot recommend anything personally.

Also the Buddha Stupa is a must if you are ok with visiting religious sites.

Hey! I’ve been in Nepal for about two months now. I stayed in Kathmandu before and I’m currently in Pokhara. I’ve stayed in four different places so far, and all of them had good enough internet for remote work, online meetings, and streaming.
Some apartments and cafés have fiber, which is obviously better, but even without fiber it’s been good enough for me. You can always ask for a speed test screenshot before renting.
One thing to keep in mind is power cuts. Usually places have backups like solar panels. It normally doesn’t last very long, but it’s still better to ask about their backup system.
