Hey everyone! I’m Lakisha from Germany 👋🏽🙂

I work remotely as an SEO Analyst and Web Tracking Freelancer and I’m currently based in Barcelona. I’m planning to come back to Uganda around July/August this year and honestly can’t wait. I’ve been there before in March and absolutely loved the energy, the nature, the people 🫶🏾✨ sooo lovely.

Besides my remote work, I’m also building a project called goldenweeks retreats, an accountability retreat concept in Zanzibar for digital nomads and online professionals who want to make real progress on their projects while being surrounded by supportive and ambitious people.

Would love to connect with fellow nomads, creatives, founders and remote workers while I’m in Uganda. Always happy to meet new people, cowork together or just grab a coffee :)

Hey Lakisha, That sounds amazing. I’m also from Germany.
I heard great things about Uganda from a few nomads who have been there.

I spent the first few nights in Entebbe , which was very calm and grounding. After that I went down to Queen Elizabeth National Park because I really wanted to do chimpanzee trekking and also just explore the area a bit more. I ended up staying at a lodge that I absolutely loved. It was such a special place because I could actually work there while being surrounded by nature and wildlife. At times there were even elephants near the lodge which felt surreal in the best way. It was also surprisingly affordable.

After that I went back up to Kampala and spent quite a bit of time there. That part really surprised me because it is such a busy and well known city, and it felt very different compared to places like Nairobi or other cities in East Africa I had been to before.

Later I also went to Jinja which I really enjoyed, especially because of the Nile. That place has such a peaceful energy.

Overall I can really recommend Uganda. I found it incredibly beautiful and I would definitely go back again. The people were honestly one of the highlights. So kind, so welcoming, so helpful and just genuinely warm in a way that stayed with me. 🙂
