On entry to CR, do they strictly check the yellow fever vaccine, e.g coming from Lima? And / or Is a copy of the yellow vaccination sheet enough?

Hey all, considering Costa Rica for ~3-4months June-September. I’m a dive instructor and would love to be able to dive easily on weekends, as well as surf, if possible. Is there anywhere with a good nomad community that’s not crazy expensive anyone can recommend?

Hey all, I am considering coming to Costa Rica for 2 weeks in early April. Will spend a week off and the second week working full-time with lots of calls.

I'd like to be surrounded by nature, good serene beaches, and indulge in the local culture (not just hang out with gringos). If possible I'd like to either scuba dive or surf.
My budget is around 1.8k USD all in for the 2 weeks (excluding flights).

What are your recommendations in terms of areas to look into? Pacific coast still the preferred side, or should I look at Puerto Viejo etc? What's the general cost of living like in CR right now?

CR is very expensive right now, especially if you earn in USD. Look into the South Pacific like Dominical, Uvita or Ojochal for a chance to have cheaper options away from gringo beaches like Jaco or Tamarindo. I live here so feel free to hit me up for advice.

Airbnbs will probably run $70-80+/night. Food is expensive at touristy restaurants ($15-20/meal) or eat at cheap “sodas” for $8-10/meal. Plus transport and activities and you can probably pull off $130/night but it will be tight. You can very easily blow through that budget if you’re not careful.
