How is Ethiopia for nomads? Is it hard to get a decent internet connection? In Kenya now and wondering where to go next

Not sure about internet because I went 8 years ago and didn’t really work.

I loved Ethiopia, the culture, nature and food.

I used Ethio telecom, 5G depends on location but enough for me for video calling

Yeah. There are Ethio telecom and Safaricom networks and they’re pretty sufficient. Free WiFi is also available in almost all hotels

Safaricom seems better — but none is great — I’m in Addis for the month as well (hi Nathan…)

It's good for a week or two for tourism but not really for nomading. Ethio and Safari were fine for eSims. You pay more to get a lot less (like any country without a real middle class). I had to stay in 4 Airbnbs before I found one that was halfway decent (and it would have been overpriced anywhere else in the world). I'd visit again for the great nature, fascinating culture, and nice people but it's not a Nomad destination yet. Food gets old fast. Begging wasn't as bad as other parts of Africa but it wears you down.
