Need some advice: I would love to come to Berlin and live at least 6 months and get a job in tech (I'm a dev). The issue is that I do not have a proof of income, having lived on previously earned savings for a while now. Where could I find a room to rent which is flexible for nomads with irregular income but is still budget. I can't use the fancy hostel co-living concepts, they are too expensive.

for wg-gesucht.de, are people usually comfortable renting out based on online / phone chat or is it expected that one would come to the place? Trying to see if I should spend a week in a hostel to find a place for a few months.

video call is ok sometimes for a month of stay, but for long time meeting in person is best (also for you)

Same. I got the last three Apartments via Video call but i payed only after i got the keys. For the last two i signed a Untermietervertrag for 4 month each.

Go for a stroll around Museumsinsel on a warm, long summer evening. There’s also an outdoor theatre. Highly recommended.

The gap between the top and Deutsche Bank is about EUR 54, same
amount wired. Several options came in under 1% total : Revolut,
Wise, Airwallex among them. Deutsche Bank landed at 6.54%.

Anyone here routing EUR into Thailand got a setup you actually
trust? Wise, Revolut, something local, stablecoin?

or if you wanna save the last few euros then you can send stablecoins to a thai exchange and withdraw from their.

yeah that matches what i expected tbh

for normal amounts Wise/Revolut are probably the “least annoying” answer for most people

curious on the stablecoin route though, have you actually used that EUR → THB yourself?

if yes, which Thai exchange did you withdraw through, and was the hassle worth it after fees/spread/time?

I’ve actually never been! It was in my kiez, too~ Me and my bestie took a blood oath and she’s wrapping me in something latex next time I’m in town and we’re going haha.

But no, I literally meant Werkhain. It’s a nice coworking space, great community/atmosphere and a nice big kitchen area you might like unless you’re still fasting. 😉 Oh and standing desks, too, if I recall correctly.

Officially jealous of every nomad in Berlin, you’re still one of the most interesting people I’ve connected with in my trip to SEA this year. Happy networking and stay cool!
