Apa khabar? I'm Susan from Malaysia, a remote worker who loves mixing work, travel, culture, and real conversations with real people.

From 9 to 18 May 2026, I'm gathering a small group of 6 to 8 remote work professionals for 10 days of coworking and coliving on tropical Penang Island in Malaysia!

We'll be based in a serene seaside villa in Batu Ferringhi. Every room faces the Andaman Sea 🌊 and has a private bathroom. Coworking happens around a big shared table, out on the terrace, or in your own quiet corner when you need to go heads-down.
Outside work hours, we explore. George Town's heritage streets and street art. Temples and clan jetties. The cool air up on Penang Hill. The slow rural pace of Balik Pulau. Evening hawker stalls where the food genuinely does all the talking.

You keep your work rhythm. You get your hours in. And then Penang opens up around you. By the time you leave, you'll know Malaysia from the inside, not from a travel blog or a highlights reel. This isn’t a retreat package. It’s just a good group of people, a beautiful space, and 10 days of work and wandering together. What excites me most, is having this small international group of individuals to share spaces with, building connections and rhythm together that will ripple through even after the trip. As a nomad, experiences like this are valuable.

I just started 10-day package with YoloFoods. From my research they seem to be the best option. They deliver lunch and dinner every day. The dishes are quite good, but I need more time form my opinion.

I'm based at Network School in Malaysia! If fitness meal prep is a priority for you I will suggest to spend a month at Network school as they take care of all the protein rich meals (bryan johnson inspired).

How's the entrepreneur network in KL? I always see other SE Asian cities pop up for solopreneurs but never seen KL as an option. I asked Gemini and it told me that if I want to hunker down and go into builder mode, this would be a good candidate.

I like it, been in KL 3 months in total so far. I think having WeWork office is a good proxy for evaluating a city as a place with “something going on” business wise. KL is just more conservative than other places in SEA, and going out costs more or less the same as in Western Europe.

Yes, I agree with this. KL has less distractions than Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Bali. Thanks to that I’m able to really focus on building my business.

I helped build race cars on a student motorsport team. I also host tea ceremonies now and then — for me it's less about ritual and more about slowing down and having a real conversation.

I'm really into street music, rock operas, piano music, and ballroom dancing. I like working in the mornings — that's when I'm most productive. I enjoy showing off how smart I am. And buckwheat tea is its own thing entirely.

When I want to stock up, I buy one big (6L-10L) bottle each time I pass the store downstairs and repeat every day for a week or so. I find coordinating with delivery drivers more hassle than it's worth tbh.
