Is anyone else having issues with the visa portal? Mine's just going directly to failed payment even though I didn't actually enter a payment. I saw that there was a comment about it before, but it looks like the Facebook post was over a year ago.

Not really. Found a few schools online but no one replied except for one that responded a month later but I had already left that City. I even had a contact reach out to someone who used to teach for and they didn't reply either.

Hey guys, been to all the countries in SEA, and want to visit PH for the first time for 2 weeks vacation. What would you recommend?(smth like phuket vibe) And is it same cheap as thailand and vietnam? (Heard it might be more expensive)

It’s a lot more expensive generally. I’ve been to Boracay it has a lot of stuff like kite surfing. That’s probably one of the most touristy islands, I heard siargao is a little cheaper and more for surfers. But generally it’s expensive because it’s all little islands and they have transport stuff in

I spent a month in Bohol Panglao recently and the internet was fine. Both WIFI at my Airbnb and cellular. I was in Palawan years ago and the internet was terrible and I've heard it still is. Expect Bohol to have better connectivity

I have been in PH for just a few days near to BGC but the ugly part. Manila reminds me a lot a poor south America where I grow up.
Any place with better infrastructure. I was thinking about Bohol as mentioned, but happy to hear other options. BGC is nice but it feels like a completed burble

Regarding El Nido and rain.
It doesn't rain everyday. Most of the time it rains for one hour or less.
Nevertheless, there are occasions where rains almost the whole day.
I've visited El Nido twice, both during the heaviest part of the rain season. And was okay for me.
I know some places get flooded

I think the worst part is the infrastructure. Reliable Internet or even phone coverage.
Prices are high compared to neighbouring countries and quality most of the time, pretty low.

the Philippines makes it very easy to stay there for years without ever needing more than a tourist visa. If you have the right passport of course.
