I have been a remote employee since 2019. First my job allowed me to work remotely from anywhere.
Once done, I booked 3 tickets for 3 different countries. Stopped by the pandemic. Settled in Hungary, but before hand I settled in Thailand

Depends on your purpose of visit. I was in Cebu city, because I wanted to work and they have good coworking spaces which are open 24/7

I'm in Siargao now. Nothing special. Everything as usual. The prices of the gasoline higher as usual (but that happened everywhere in the world in the past couple of weeks)

I'm thinking about where to go for June in South East Asia and was recomended Baguio in Philippines. It is 1500 m above sea level so the temperature is 25 degrees instead of scorching heat of other places. I have herd internet is good for nomads too. Anyone stayed there or planing to go in June? Planing maybe a month there.

But it means changing time zone again 😭 I thought I can stay in Asia for 6 months for the reason of not changing time zones too often, but sooo hot here. It takes my body 3 months to adjust to new time zone and then I can happily live 3 months before moving to another big time zone change area.

Wow that’s a lot of time. Have you tried changing sleeping hours a week before shifting to a different time zone yet for example ? 🥺

A couple of years ago my wife and I moved to the Philippines for what was meant to be a one year experiment, and I’ve been based between El Nido and other parts of the country since.

While travelling and working remotely, I kept running into the same challenge around finding places that really support focused work, so I ended up opening a coworking space locally.

Since then I’ve become really interested in what actually makes a place work for nomads day to day, beyond just good WiFi and nice views.

There's no surfing in boracay but they do have kite-boarding (not this part of the year though). Siargao has surfing but is touristy and kind of trendy instagram vibes now. Other surf areas you might want to check on: west side Luzon coast (La Union area), and also Eastern Samar there's a place called Guiuan - that's pretty remote if that's your thing.

I have been hiring people from Philippines to Singapore located business. Using Singapore sites with job advertisements like Jobstreet was enough - those are usually monitored by people from
the region.
