Madeira is beautiful as an island, just remember it is fairly small so don't expect the same quantity of amenities as a major city

went to foxgym.pt (Porto) today and it was really good. 10€ day pass is a little steep imo for just weightlifting access but, clean, good equipment and nice staff

Never been to Portugal (plan to go) but when I am somewhere for less than a month, I always go to some smaller gym and ask for a shorter pass just for me. Such smaller places are mostly very flexible and they are happy to let me exercise for 2 weeks for instance, for 60% of the 1 month price. Would recommend 👌

I‘m paying €1.5k rn per month. That‘s just the going rate for Europe and short-term rentals these days. Comparable cities like Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, etc won’t be cheaper.

I’m planning a trip to Portugal this June - July. I’ve been to Porto, Lisbon and Algarve before for about 5 days each. From my research so far the Algarve seems expensive in the summer - I’m seeing coliving places go for 1250 Eur/month vs 600 eur/month in Porto.

Looking for reviews from people who have stayed in either place or recommendations on new cities 😇 I love the beaches (but can’t surf/swim), good nightlife and laid back culture

👋question about the nomad visa that I hope someone has a good understanding:

I am applying to the nomad visa but at the same time I need to travel to Canada while my citizenship process is going on. I don't want to wait until Canada approves my citizenship to move to Portugal, at the same time I don't want to enter in Portugal and be stuck there with the risk Canada invites me to my citizenship ceremony.
If I can do multiple entries with the nomad visa that's not a big deal for me either.
But I also heard I can get the residence title and have multiple entries.

Does anyone ever had to deal with this and has any clue about the best approach? Thanks in advance

I have a cousin there who just got a cardiac arrest a few days earlier...and he's admitted there... I've applied for the visa but the process is taking too long atm
