If you want to meet ambitious people and get inspired I recommend to go on a trip without quitting your job if possible. probably Da Nang is a good option or Bangkok / Chiang Mai. Other people could maybe recommend other places too. Then you’d have the opportunity to connect with people return back to your life and job and maybe maintain friendships from a distance. Might even be a good motivation to work hard and go back on your next trip :)

Unaiz if I were you, I'd keep the job, not spend too much time on it, and build projects on the side. Reason I say this is, for me, my dream is to make a living from indie projects. I actually quit my job to do so, but that was because my job demanded lots of hours.. if I only had to work an hour or two a day I wouldn't have quit.

I suggest you separate the goal of "making enough income to pay the bills" from "building your own products". If you can do both and not spend a lot of time on the former, that would be the ideal. I also wouldn't try to find smart tech people you can learn from at a _job_. Go to meetups if they have them wherever you're located. Meet people online. Don't expect a job that pays the bills to have those people. Some of the highest paying jobs have a lot of people who really are in the field for the money and not because they're interested in tech.

One other thing since this is Nomad List. If it's important to you to be able to work remotely, maybe before you do anything else, negotiate remote at your current job. If you're really a rock star at the job I don't see why they wouldn't accommodate you.

What exactly do you want to know? It’s a pretty child friendly country overall.

Since we are used to Central Europe, we’d like to spend a month there with a 6- month old.

What child friendly mean? As far I can see online, strollers are difficult to use and carrying babies in the heat might be a problem. We are also concerned about access to medical facilities as needed.

Medical care isn’t too much of an issue. Lots of hospitals with paediatric professionals. Everything from advice to urgent care is very easy to access.

Carrying my son around in one of those child backpacks or stroller was never an issue for us. You end up having to go over a bump between sidewalks sometimes but people complain a mountain out of a molehill online about stuff like this a bit too much in my opinion.

By child friendly I mean it’s easy to live here with a child. People are generally nice to them and even engage especially with younger kids.

Madrid if you want to enjoy a more cultural-ish approach to Spain. Barcelona is being overdone and too touristy imo, but it depends on your preferences . Alicante is nice (i'm from alicante ! ). Very chill and best weather this time of year. Go to Playa San Juan (plenty or airbnbs) if you want a more relaxed outpace. And you can go to downtown from time to time.

Hi Yasmine, I completely get the feeling. I think any idea or upskilling recommendation would be poorly suited as we don’t know you that well. That being said; you have your teaching experience. If I were you I’d start taking mental (or physical) notes of everyday problems or rarer ones, areas with room for improvement; pick one I’d not get bored of working on, and start building a solution for that. I’d first test for demand by surveying some potential users. If you have someone technical you can team up with, you can turn it into an Edtech startup.

But IDK about you, this may not be for everyone & I don’t know your constraints. Either way, best of luck. 🤞🏻

I suggest to listen to or read the book “Who moved my cheese” it helped me too. I think it’s a time of change for most businesses and careers and we all need to take our best chance. With AI there is many new possibilities and opportunities. I think it’s good to use the skills you’ve built already and see if there is something connected to that that will have a high demand in future and not many people / companies will be able to offer the same or not on your level.

Hi I stayed in both Cangu and Pererenan, I would prefer Pererenan. Its near the ocean. There is a nice coliving place Tribal, Wrong gym, The Path yoga center also a padel place there. Very nice place to stay

Colder than Tokyo for sure, but it's endurable. On the plus side, most Korean foods (jigae, etc) are built for cold weather so the restaurants will warm you up.
