When I did my 30 day extension 2 years ago I had to go to the immigration office at IT Square Lak Si and pay ~1900THB. It can be quite busy with a 2-3hr wait, depending on what time you arrive.

It depends on your nationality. mostly it's a Good thing if you apply for the 60-day visa before entering Thailand

Most Europeans and Westerners don't need to apply in advance, as they can enter under the visa exemption scheme, 60 days/ 30 days, with the possibility of extending for another 30 days.

However, the requirements and process can vary depending on your nationality, and some documentation may be needed.

My suggestion is to apply for a 60-day visa beforehand if you're planning to stay longer. It will save you the hassle and stress of having to visit immigration to extend your stay later.

EU here. Yeah agreed way easier to apply for the 60 day online. I just entered on the 30 day, will leave for a week to Taiwan (for a holiday) and will then apply for the 60 day when I’m there to re-enter. Hope that works

I assume you are male looking for a female partner? This discussion is more suitable for the dating channel, If you find a connection to the Russian community (they always have local Telegram channels in Russian) you can connect with longer-term expats.
You can also find a coworking space which attracts the kind of date you are looking for and go there regularly.

An Thuong used be the go-to for nomads but now it’s becoming overrun with tourists and people who must have been kicked out of Thailand or Bali. Better to look just north or south of there, 2-3 blocks off the beach (or closer if you’re farther away from An Thuong)

The longer you stay the more it’s worth walking around or trying the groups. There are several FB groups where you can ask about accommodations - just search for Da Nang - but read some recent posts before you post to get a feel for it and how to ask

Ten years ago nimman would’ve been the clear answer for a nomad. Now, I would say many other parts are just as good for a nomad - especially both alt locations. I’ve stayed at both alts, and now have a base in nimman. Nimman has more of a local lifestyle flair now and the nomad-scene is more spread out.

Idk, I kinda like roaming around at night or very early in the morning where I get to see the cities or the nature fall asleep or wake up. But Lycian Way I also wouldn’t do alone, the real dangers I’ve heard of as a local were mostly about some parts being quite dangerous due to loose rocks etc… I haven’t walked the trail yet and now it looks like a long shot as I have MS & cannot tolerate heat 🫠
