Hey Dan, do you mean Movistar? If so, then they currently don’t offer eSIMs for tourists and prepaid customers. You need to be a Spanish resident and have a contract with them.

If you need to find an eSIM with a better coverage in Spain, then consider researching on esimDB. In the coverage section, they list which operators are used for the specific travel eSIM plan.

You can use a translator to read it.

In the esim Q&A, it states that one can get an esim on a prepaid basis, but one has to visit a movistar shop. In the shop they will create the QR code for you.

In short, a prepaid movistar esim is not available online.

There are fires around Madrid and the firefighters are actively trying to contain these while some people are being asked to evacuate. This is for some places around the capital.

Within the city of Madrid itself it’s mostly the smog that’s a problem. So people are being asked to close their windows and/or wear a mask outside.

How is the nomad community there? I remember after Covid it seemed to be thriving, but now I’m struggling to find evidence of that online.

Im a big fan of the Canary Islands (for a limited period of time), particularly if you are into nature, hiking, and surfing, etc. The digital nomad community is not large compared to other parts of the world, but I'd still recommend spending time there and even doing island hopping. Spend some time in Tenerife and Lanzarote, for example.

I don’t have the Thai DTV but do have the Spanish nomad visa.

You will likely need to pay Spanish taxes if you’re living in Spain for at least 183 days in a calendar year.

Try setting your Airbnb search to 32 nights. I think that becomes a different type of listing category and the prices/inventory change. At least it works this way in some other cities. I noticed Valencia was absurdly priced when you look for 30 days or less...

I've used idealista to find other 1 month stays in tarifa for example, but for some reason in valencia most I've messaged said minimum 3 month stay.. but you do find the best deals on there, also sublets
